My thread was merged earlier so I'll say it again. Kris Commons. Yes he's another left footer, yes he's more of a winger, but he was scoring for fun before being dropped, he's creative and a strike rate of 53 in 112 is striker stats. Plus wouldn't be that expensive and easily fit into our wage structure.
At both Forest and Derby he showed that he was talented but also very frustrating. The fact that he dropped down to the SPL and moved for as little as 300k proves that. He's been scoring for fun because he plays in a fun league. And he's 31, so he's going to start slowing down now, which is problematic for a player of his kind.
Richairo Zivkovic would be a player worth looking at! plays for Ajax not sure how much he may cost! only scored 2 in 3 but looks a good prospect! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richairo_Živković
Loic Remy. He's only started one Premier League game this season and been a sub in seven and he's still scored a couple of goals.
I'm not going to argue with you on some points, but 5 in 41 at Stoke, 32 in 138 at Forest, 21 in 80 at Derby, are all decent stats, he wouldn't cost much in both wages and fee, I think it's a reasonable risk to take. Might be a fun league, but there's still a few good players around, and he's one of them and he's creative. If it's a toss up between Commons or some Sagbo-esque foreign player that Bruce has his eye on, who would you prefer?
Why would Chelsea want to offload Remy? If they lose Costa to injury that just leaves Drogba whose in his 70's.
Everyone wants Rossi to be given a go, but wasn't he 21 at the start of the season? That would mean he has to be registered, which I doubt we will do as we're only a few short of the full 25 and will need them if we're planning on making further additions
Surely Eto'o is a shout, apparently on 60k, would have thought it was more. I understand attracting him to a club like ours is the difficult thing.
It was always WBA for Gestede. I reckon we were just agent smoke to put the pressure on Pulis who allegedly wanted him in.
West Brom have just been linked with him in the papers, exactly as we have, nobody actually knows if either of us are actually interested in him, it might be nothing more than his agent touting him about.
How do they value Gestede at circa £5m and Rhodes at £10m or whatever it was last season. Gestede has a superior goal scoring record this season. Even for a striker near the top of the scoring charts £5m seems too low.
It's to do with how they play, plus Rhodes has consistently had season after season of heading the scoring charts in the second tier, Gestede hasn't.
