Agreed - if fit he'd no doubt do a good job for us. He's a decent player. But I wouldn't sign him because of his ridiculous fragility - he'd add to an already packed treatment room.

Gestede has a pre-Blackburn record of 1 goal in 10.

Roo is going to be wetting himself in excitement.

Fully agree with Sydney here, Fletcher would be a last payday player, and rubbish for us. I'd put him Pretty much on a par with Nicky Butt when he left Man Utd, and he never tore up any trees either.

And for those that think that him not being good enough for Man Utd doesn't mean that he isn't good enough for us, does that mean that we should sign up any old shiote that Man Utd ship out?!

But since signed for Blackburn on 1.1.2014 he's got 24 in 43. Plus he's 6'4" and actually scores a lot with his head he probably is worth bringing in.

Ivory Coast FA have said it is done, Swansea and Manchester City have denied it, but I can see it just being a formality now. This was taken from Swansea's twitter:

Wilfried Bony has NOT yet completed his move to @MCFC. Once completed, we will confirm via official channels - not the Ivory Coast FA! #busy

It seems the Ivory Coast Football Federation have let the cat out the bag a little early, but I'm sure it will be confirmed officially today.

This kind of got me wondering (again) why we let Tom Cairney leave, I'm pretty sure that he will have played his part in many of those goals. Yeah I know he only had one foot and often wouldn't chase back, but that reminds me of many of our current squad and those ****ers are still here!

Well, that's been our policy for a few years, hasn't it? Evans, Chester, Stewart, Brady, Dudgeon, and even McShane and Bruce far less directly.

The difference being that the players you've quoted were not at the end of their careers, and mostly had energy and points to prove, Fletcher has neither of those.

I don't agree that we need more midfielders, we've got them coming out of our ears, and the laxk if creativity isn't down to poor wuality midfielders. Huddlestone, Livermore, Ramirez and Quinn can all pick someone out. The problem is there's nothing to aim for up front. We have no centre forwards so there's no movement or holdup play. Surprise surprise when the strikers played well V Everton, we created plenty, even with a relatively depleted midfield.

I think we need two up front. I have ti admit I had no idea Gestede was even doing well at Blackburn, or that he was young when he was at Cardiff. But he looks like an ideal candidate to be our target man. Defoe woulf be an ideal foil, but I don't think that was ever likely. Hopefully Bruce can get Gestede and then pull another surprise out of the bag for a nippy instinctive striker.

Yannick Sagbo wants to jump ship at Hull, just as Steve Bruce’s side need him most, according to the Sun.

The 26-year-old Frenchman, who has made just two appearances from the substitute’s bench since returning from a loan spell at Wolves, is suddenly the No. 1 frontman for the Tigers following long-term injuries to Nikica Jelavic and Abel Hernandez.

The lack of playing time, however, has frustrated him and he insists he wants to leave the KC Stadium in January.

“I’ve told the manager I want to play and need to leave as soon as possible. I hope Hull can make it easy for me to leave by releasing me,” he said.

Ferreira remains target for tormented Tigers

HULL CITY are understood to be keeping a close eye on Portuguese left-back Ruben Ferreira as the injury crisis bites deeper at Yorkshire’s sole Premier League representative.

The Tigers yesterday confirmed that £17m duo, Nikica Jelavic and Abel Hernandez, will be out for between three and six weeks after limping out of Saturday’s defeat at West Bromwich
Albion.

With Mohamed Diame, Andrew Robertson, Liam Rosenior, Robert Snodgrass, Sone Aluko and Gaston Ramirez all having missed the trip to The Hawthorns, Steve Bruce’s squad is being stretched to the limit.

Respite, of sorts, could come this weekend as Ramirez and Aluko may return for the trip to West Ham United.

Even so, Hull badly need a change of luck on the injury front as Bruce continues to monitor the transfer market.

Ruben, a 24-year-old who will be out of contract at Maritimo in the summer, has been on the club’s radar for some time.

However, attempts to watch the full-back live were frustrated by him being a late withdrawal through injury from a game in Madeira just before Christmas that was being attended by a member of the Tigers’ scouting team.

Come on! we have had two internationals up front, you can't say we don't have anything up front! ....the creativity from midfield has been appauling! The likes of Meyler, Quinn and Brady have trouble passing an easy ball never mind finding a creative pass, Same can be said for Huddlestone this season!

Strikers thrive off great balls from midfielders, (that cross from huddlestone at arsneal for example) ......the only hope we have of our strikers scoring is a great ball from Livermore or Huddlestone who have been off form (for me) this season!

Nowt like loyalty eh. I truly wish that we could afford to keep him and just leave him out for the rest of his contract. What makes the ****er think that we should make it easy for him to leave when we paid decent money for him and he's not even looked like repaying any of it?! French twat!
