To be fair to the lad, he's been building up to this for a few games now. He needs to keep it up consistently though, obviously.
He was one that I thought would come good eventually, and I'm still hoping for that.

  2. They've had their fair share of criticism but the two topping the list are Johnson and Gerrard in that order! #scapegoats

  3. Marko's been playing so well recently that I fully expect him to be dropped sooner rather than later...

Anyone properly judging Markovic, Can, Manquillo, Balo now need to look at themselves... The first three are young, thrown into a team with no confidence and no direction. Balo was bought to partner Sturridge and wasn't played right - and was still decent without scoring.

We should be questioning the club for leaving us so reliant on Sturridge. Why did we not sign Remy? Will we ever know? We have an entire team geared for a fast defence/attack transition and ONE striker who plays that way - our MOST INJURY PRONE PLAYER. Ridiculous.

    Imagine we did sign Remy

Imagine his dodgy knee/heart/whatever then acted up

WHY THE **** DID WE CHOOSE SOMEONE WITH A KNOWN PROBLEM AS A BACKUP TO AN INJURY PRONE PLAYER

    etc.

    <ok>

  6. Agree about the first three players but why did we sign Balotelli...? You say not to judge them this soon into their Liverpool career, would you do the same if we signed Joey Barton or would you question why the club as signed someone that clearly isn't good enough and doesn't suit our style...? Nothing Mario has previously done suggested he would fit in, be good or even settle!

What has impressed me most about Marko is his defensive ability - he was brilliant against Sunderland and got stuck. I think stopped 5-7 crosses, which is something Johnson would never do.

But both he and Can are getting opportunities in unfamiliar positions - I suppose it allows them to get minutes and get used to the style of football. But for me, I really want to see Manquillo RWB with Markovic pushed forward.

Perhaps we're just discussing the fact that he's not quite as **** as people were calling him after half a dozen games.

I question why we signed him sure - journalists have said Rodgers was left with the choice of Mario or no-one. I question why that situation was ever allowed.

But the player is manifestly a talented player. We can't judge him until we play him properly surely.

Haha Remy was illustrative... Just used him because of obvious reasons.

  17. I'd have opted for no one and save the money for January. No one would have been just as effective :)

I agree that we should never have been in that position though.

Yeh I'm not convinced that there was value in the summer.

Lacazette would've been ideal but very expensive. Other realistic options - Berahino, maybe Paco Alcacer or Luiz Adriano a bit unproven/speculative.

  19. Lavezzi was the player, or Tevez. Both older but both would have fitted the style and offered the required energy and movement. Tevez would have brought goals too (out of contract this summer apparently)

When has he showed his mystical and mythical talents - at any club he's ever played for?
75% of his goals (no exaggeration) from Italy were set pieces and the majority for City were, again, set pieces. If we let Lambert take over set piece duties, I'm sure he'd have bagged a fair few by now even
