This. If the £35m is being spent on wages, agent fees, training ground etc. where is the gate receipt, Northern Rock, TV money etc. being spent? I don't think anyone with any brains or reason expected a net outgoing of £35m on transfers, and I certainly don't want us to blow £20m on another Owen, but the fact is there are areas of the squad which need strengthening, and we're not strengthening them. There's also the Enrique issue, we need to be doing something to cover that because if he leaves at the end of August we're ****ed.

These sort of articles are getting really really boring now. Same old negativity, same old rubbish about MA filling his pockets.

MA is trying very hard to make NUFC financially self sustainable in order to comply with the fairplay regulations. Therefore taking money out of the club to fund any other venture would be a pointless exercise, because he would make it impossible for him to achieve his financial aim at the club unless he then put the money back in again.

This argument will be even stronger starting from next season because any money put into the club by MA will be inelligable to count as income under the fifa regs regarding the break even calculation, whereas the money generated by the club (e.g. selling Carroll/Nolan) will be eligable for the calculation. (btw there is no evidence that MA has taken any money from the club in any of the forms possible; salary, dividend, loan repayment or loan interest so the whole suggestion is speculative and unfounded).

There is a long term financial transformation taking place at the club which is complex but ulitmately very important and necessary. I wish people would take the time to do a bit of research into this before they keep creating these scaremongering articles.

A fair bit has already been spent on the signing on fees of Marveaux and Ba in particular, plus wages, sounded like about £8m gone from that already. Plus money for Cabaye and training ground.

if he's enthusiastic about the club then sign him, he and Demba can compete for the #9 shirt... my money is on Demba.

Surely Nolan and Carroll were on more wages weekly than Ba & Marveaux combined. I remember reading on this board that Ba and Marveaux were on contracts which were heavily incentivised meaning their basic weekly wage is quite low.

    Agreed 100%
I'm sick of the same "Where is the £35 Mill?? article questions, even when the board comment on it, it's still not good enough!!

Judge their decisions once the window is shut, there is plenty of time left to get players in.
