The return of the "****er bet"*

    Southwell 15.25
1.5 points win Extreme Supreme 4/1
    2 points win Scarborough 5/2
1 point win Oriental Relation 6/1

    4.5 points staked
    Potential return = 7 or 7.5

    * ****er bet is a trademark bet (definition concocted by stick)

LANCEUR 1.05 Fakenham trading at around 9-2 on Betfair. The Jollyallan form looks exceptional and surely he is darn good value at those sort of odds! TRAFALGAR attracting support that looks worthy in the last.

Which flat trainers form in 2015 reads 1111612 ?

    2:05 Fakenham - Cappielow Park

Sir Mark Prescott. Wouldn't put it past him adding another 1 on to it tomorrow with his only runner at Southwell.

I quite fancy Oriental Relation tomorrow. 6/1 ew looks fair on a typically crap midweek January card.

Useful stats here . (Not sufficiently up to date to answer stick's question as haven't been updated for today's results)

    Big one Ste?

Gold Cup? Not really that arsed about it but if pushed I'd back On His Own at the time at a big price. He'll be 20/1 and will run his usual big race. Was cheated out of it last season when I backed him at 40/1. It still hurts!

Zip Top didn't look fit at Kempton and failed to find anything, expect him to strip fitter today, whilst I don't like the head carriage of the one Stick has put up. Fear the Fanshawe horse though so not betting.

ste, you'd get fungus if you dipped your toe in that pond. Prices on the day, or just before, are so good at the Cheltenham Festival that ante-post is best ignored? Over the years have heard so many sad and unlucky ante-post stories on the forum that to give this form of betting a swerve is surely right?

I agree swanny.got burnt last year with mossey joey which put me off ante post betting until nrnb sinks in.but then again life would be boring if we didnt take a few wee punts now and then!

Congrats to stephanie roach who finished second for the ferenk puskas worlds best goal of the year at the ballon d'or awards last night.kinda being biased but I thought her goal deserved to win it ahead of james rodriqeuz.and how the feck that head banger that is david luiz made into world team of the year I'll never know!

I see that old boy Pricewise has made his picks for the CGC. 1 pt win Holywell (14’s) and 1 pt win The Carlingford Lough (20/1). Both are NRNB.

Myself, I couldn’t have either. But then he did have a tough brief trying to find value in the current CGC market.
