Every one is talking about PDC, who I wouldnt want as a manager ever again. He was a nutter who had a couple of good ideas. How about the mistakes he made ? Where would we be now if Catts had remained frozen out of the squad ? or even Bardo (though in the long term, it is good he has gone)? Yes he was right to be strict with the players and insist on certain things, but you not let players enjoy themselves (banter etc) during training or on the pitch. the entire point of playing a sport, even at a professional level, is that you enjoy it. PDC destroyed that imo. However, does anyone else think Bally had us playing a good style of footie in the couple of games he was in charge ? yes we lost them games (against Liverpool and Man U) but I enjoyed watching us play. If Poyet was to go, something I dont want to happen, then Ball has to have a shout ?
Wtf gus? Fans who criticised decision to sub Adam Johnson 'don't have a clue', says Gus Poyet 13 January 2015 06:30 AM Stuart Rayner The decision to replace Adam Johnson with Mikael Mandron as Sunderland AFC pushed for an equaliser against Liverpool was unpopular please log in to view this image 2015 Getty Images Mamadou Sakho of Liverpool controls the ball next to Adam Johnson of Sunderland Gus Poyet says Sunderland need to lighten the load on Adam Johnson and has hit back at those fans who criticised his decision to substitute the winger. On the face off it taking off his top goalscorer to replace him with Mikael Mandron, a youngster making his first appearance under Poyet, seemed an odd move as the Black Cats chased an undeserved point at home to Liverpool. Yet after the 1-0 defeat, Poyet criticised those who questioned his decision. The Uruguayan said: “People do not have a clue. “I don’t care if what they think because if Mika scores you do not ask me that question (about whether the substitution should have been made). “It is very easy when the game is over. “I think it was the right decision It was at the point where he (Johnson) could not go past people because he was so tired.” Johnson’s four league goals this season make him Sunderland’s top-scorer along with Steven Fletcher, who missed the game through injury. The Easington-born player has too often this term been the Black Cats’ only attacking player or real quality but Poyet revealed his preparation for the game had been far from ideal. please log in to view this image Sunderland's Adam Johnson He added: “Adam was tired. He had become a father (last week) and had not trained for two days. “He wanted to play but he had to go back too much. “Sometimes we are a bit unfair with him and give him all the responsibility. “We need to share the responsibilities to go forward and create something. “Someone needs to stand up and not always AJ.” Danny Graham could be given that chance after also coming off the bench at the weekend. Until his 77th-minute introduction, Graham’s only football under Poyet had been a two-minute cameo at home to Stoke City in the League Cup. Wigan Athletic are interested in taking the striker on loan for the rest of the season but, with no replacement yet lined up and interest in Jozy Altidore from America’s Major League Soccer, it might not be Graham’s final appearance for the Black Cats. Poyet denied his previous refusal to pick the forward was down to anything other than football. “I am pleased for him,” he said after Graham’s first Premier League appearance since New Year’s Day 2014. “I always say depending on what you do you will have a chance. It is not me liking him or not wanting him. It is up to the players. “Danny was there for what he has been doing so we will see if he plays this week.” Seriously considering hoying graham in the mix ffs
Those stories could only have come from the same players who keep letting us down. What a surprise that they wanted someone out who was shaming them and asking them to behave like professionals in regards to lifestyle, diet, commitment etc.
I've just read that and it seems to me that he's talking about the media and NOT the supporters. He's directly answering the people who have just questioned his decision. Deliberately malicious blx by the media is my verdict.
He's right about AJ - I had no idea he'd become a dad - he was knackered and it's pointless risking injuring a player who is important to us. As for Graham - he looked a million miles better than Wickham on Saturday. Better in his 16 minutes than Connor in the other 77.
I'd agree up to a point but it was only the last quarter of an hour where we threw caution to the wind. We came out waving a white flag, at home again, and Liverpool, like Hull, took advantage. No one will fear the SOL with our current tactics.
This is the thing, everybody accepted the defeat at city, albeit we maybe should have got something, its the way we came out on saturday, a soft ****ing shambles, defeat is acceptable somewhat when they give it some, performaces like that and v hull arr certainly not, its so bloody frustrating
I think the supporters have been incredibly patient with Poyet's tactics but there are limits. Sadly, if we want to pass & keep possession we need to bring our own 'trained up' kids through or buy foreign. The likes of Brown will never be confident of bring the ball forwards and passing in their own half. Everything we do is so slow & predictable that the opposition aren't troubled.
if Poyet doesnt get the players he wants this jan, then he needs to give the younger players a chance IMO. nothing to lose.
Trying to find footage of the move at old trafford which resulted in borini hitting the bar, cant find it, i give up
