I agree about Funny People, it was just depressing and I thought it was too long. I don't mind long movies at all, but it simply overstayed its welcome-by about 2 hours!
phew, it's not just me then. After that experience I vowed to avoid all film reviews, no exceptions. I'm a fan of the superhero genre (childish, I know), the X-Men films, Iron Man 1 and 2, the 3 Spider-Man films, Christopher Nolan's resurrection of the Batman franchise (which I had always regarded as rubbish). Never finished Superman Returns, don't regret it, though. I've also stayed well clear of the Hulk. Don't mind other types of films (except horror, I'm easily terrified - but Jennifer's Body was brilliant), generally avoid comedies like the plague (didn't enjoy The Hangover much but Get Smart was excellent when I eventually got round to seeing it), have a soft spot for animation (Wall - E, recommend it to anyone). Some films occasionally surprise me, Duplicity for example, Julia Roberts, I thought "Meh" but I ended up loving every moment.
War films and horror movies are my favs. Trying to think of a purely truly scary one though..... Although many got got banned in the 80s, there has been some re-makes, which frankly are better, but still nothing where you go ..oh ****...
I prefer Horror books to Films, Films are never scary to me, or they are just gross out ones which i dont want to see, but a book you can get right in there and some are pretty bloody scary. IT was great, TV adaption was ****e Stephen King Domain/Rats are great Horror Books James Herbert But the most ****ed up book i have ever read was American Psysho by Bret Eastern Ellis, i had to put that down for 3 months as i thought i was him, just the way its wrote, and a movie can never convey that feeling, the movie wasnt bad, but i read the book first and it pailed in comparison badly.
how does one enjoy a horror film then? Even turning the sound off for the scary bits doesn't help, I still end up a nervous wreck!
Was that the one with Kevin Spacey? or am i thinking of something different? Not a gret movie....... Although Spacet played a great part in Usual Suspects........now thats a movie.......
Christian Bale and Rees Witherspoon were in American Psycho http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0144084/ I agree with usual Suspects one of my favourites, but other Spacey films i can think off, American Beauty, K-Pax
watched the complete first season, it's quite good! Much later, I watched the first and second seasons of The Big Bang Theory, wipes the floor with all the comedies I've watched so far. Edit: speaking of comedies, I thought the Worst Week of My Life was excellent. However, the yank version, Worst Week, is so terrible it's sad.
come on lads! Anybody with the answer? What do PotC, Sherlock Holmes, Inception and The Dark Knight have in common? It's easy... The prize is a weekend for two at the InterCon Nairobi, at your own expense.
that's one answer, I suppose. Get on the phone with your travel agent commachio... Anyone else fancy a stay at an ancient, extortionately expensive hotel??

Can highly recommend Little miss sunshine. About a girl in a kids pageant thing in yank land Loads of quality actors an the granddad is a brilliant character. Also the scene where the girl performs in the pageant is honestly one of the funniest things I have ever seen. If you don't laugh out loud I'll buy you a pint.
