Sanogo has played 13 times, mostly as a sub, he's scored no goals. I'm sure we've had more than enough of strikers who can't score. We'd be just as well sticking a midfielder up front. We're desperate, but not that desperate.
Ignoring stats, Sanogo is a decent player. Think he just needs a proper run of games and he'll start to come good. He'd be perfect for us, big, strong and fairly quick, could get his head on our long balls and crosses.
The last game I saw Sanogo play in he was quite a handful, with a run of games he could be good. Though from what we are hearing he is in talks with Palarse today, so it unlikely we would get him anyhow.
Not sure we can afford to take a player who "just needs a decent run of games" to come good. The same tag has been used for a multitude of players recently, Prossie,Aluko,Hanandez etc. what we need is someone who is good now!
I guess not which is why we won't get one ! You get my point though, we aren't really in a very strong position we either take some one with potential which may not materialise or we pay way over the odds and the player still doesn't turn the season round. Gloom gloom gloom.
There's no money to spend, it's a loan or nothing. Sanogo is the best available for a loan, specially to fit in to our set up. He's not just some turd who's not good enough to play at this level, he's really got something about him but just needs games under his belt to get up and running which he's not getting at Arsenal. We could obviously go out and get someone who's doing it now, I'm sure Fat Sam will be willing to send us Andy Carroll on loan for half the season? Maybe Man City will be willing to send Bony straight out on loan to us?
It's the same as every transfer window, we need a striker, we need a striker! How many windows do we say it, we are always going to have to take a punt it's the waters we fish in. Defoe is the player we want as he's got a proven track record but like brucie says he could be too expensive. whoever we sign we also need to correct the real problem the creativity side to our game because there's no point having Defoe upfront earning 60k plus and not been able to give him the ball
Someone like Vaz Te would be as useful as carrying on using Ince and Brady as forwards, we play long ball and crosses into the box, we don't offer the supply Vaz Te would need, I don't think we've played a through ball between defenders since September 2012. We need a big striker who can win the ball in the air.
I'm wondering if Maguire has been given a few run outs in the U21's as a centre forward, if not perhaps he should, and whilst we're at it get Big Billy back to coach him as to how to take defenders, goalkeepers, and, if necessary, officials, out of the game!
Just read this news story, Who do you think he'll realistically sign? http://www.wearehull.com/home/45876...ngs-'essential'-for-club-says-manager/9256418
As I understand it Toronto have halved the transfer fee on Defoe. Why not offer him £60K a week with £10K a goal bonus.

And getting Big Billy back would be great for the dressing room, a big heart and ruthlessness is what we could do with.
