You sure it's wrong? It's an average that includes 08-09, 09-10, and 13-14. I imagine it doesn't include this season as January hasn't finished yet.

It's the average January net spend. Assuming they're not looking at this season, that suggests a total net spend of £22.2m in the three previous PL January windows. Which sounds about right to me.

It still seems pretty low to me, even in our PL seasons before.

    Roughly...

    08/09 £7.5m (Bullard and Zayatte)
    09/10 Nowt
    13/14 £13.5m (Long and Jelavic)

We appear to have sold no one for cash in those three windows.

Cairney will have brought in something but the net of £22m is pretty much the purchases of £22m. Also, didn't we pay about £500k for Kilbane?

Correct on both fronts. I blame Soccerbase for my omissions.

I expect two loan signings at best. Trusting Bruce with more cash to spend is foolish

IMO, Defoe - Doyle and one other should be enough for this window.

As out and out forwards who are fit we only have Sagbo and Rossi.

In saying that, @ West Ham on sunday i would go 3 - 5 - 1 - 1 and try to nick a goal if we can. Brady and Ince with there pace and footwork may just work.
