The Daily Post reports that Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has revealed he tried to sign Rickie Lambert - but says the striker is determined to stay and fight for his Liverpool place.
Nice to discuss all these rumours, when in reality we won't sign anyone sadly. Would love to shift Balotelli off for anything around £10m-£14m, just get rid of that crap. Italian clubs don't buy though.
We can daydream can't we?? So now we've got two stubborn batards in Lambert and Borini on a hiding to nothing and nowhere but convinced they'll turn it around in the next game in the 30 seconds they might get to play. Brill.
With Assaidi leaving (we doubled our money on him so credit to the negotiation team) which will cover the Origi fee which seems most likely. Hopefully we can sell Borini and Lambert ASAP to help fund another player. Neither have a future at this club nor are they good enough. But I do hope we got big on a central midfielder. The key to Soton's success of the past 2 years have been the partnership of Schneiderlin and Wanyama. A quality midfield improves the team in every aspect - defence and attack. We've not had a quality midfielder since Mascherano and Alonso left. It's amazing how we went from those two to Lucas and Henderson. The gulf in quality is staggering and really highlights how far we have fallen.
