I think he is going to be a very good buy for Liverpool. We saw a glimpse of what he's capable of at the Stadium of Light yesterday. Well done Lazar Marković .
Needs a fair run in the team in his position to judge him fully. If he can keep up the level of yesterday then yes he can be a good positive part of our team.
Need to see Markovic to keep it up for the rest of the season first. Unlike Can, who has impressed even when not fully fit.
Needs to be as we paid £20 mill for him. Does look promising though and I look forward to seeing how he progresses.
I think we have been very premature on a lot our signings. We cannot really truly judge them till next season. If we turn this season around Rodgers will have had his first two seasons in one. I feel we should concentrate on Europa as that would appear to be our best chance of CL league, as I think we are too farbehind in league. Our Feb fixtures are scary!!
It was funny reading him being written off by some fans. If there is anything I have noticed is the signings who were thrown in deep end at the beginning i.e. Balotelli,Lovern,Moreno and Manquillo did struggle. The ones who were kept on the bench Markovic and Can are now showing form in that they have managed to build fitness levels to match the premier league. There is a reason why we paid 20 million for Markovic. In two seasons he would have grown exponentially and we would have been priced out. Just look at Lacazzette who was being touted at 14 million during the summer window. Now he is the top scorer Ligue 1 and city are already sniffing around if the rags are to be believed.
Very sensible He's done a few positive things Not sure but done attitude change occurred here before real game time and he has followed that through. For me yes it was good he didn't let the red card kill him off Also, flexibility in position and decent work rate are positives However as above keep it up and as I said elsewhere give us a display against a top team to show this isn't just playing bad teams
Oh and sorry but judging a player can be done by anyone simply using thier eyes. That's why I mentioned attitude change earlier Every time markovic got a chance he was timid, he never showed anything of his form or pace so..... I've also said since Basel game at least he is showing something now!
This is true and I accept that said there are only two top sides in the league this season so I can take 4 bad performances. That said, that volley should have gone in as it was soo brilliant his confidence would have gone 10 times higher.
Said in the summer that Markovic was the signing you made that i was most impressed with. Seen him play for Benfica and Partizan and always thought he was quality. Was a little disappointed he started off slow for you, but he is showing his quality now. Just a shame you wasted the rest of the Bale money on the Southampton contingent.
Markovic as with the others deserves judging after 12-18 months. I'd say the same applies to all new players to the league...I think the gripe most of us had after this summer wasn't who we bought (apart from Baloteskey) but who we didn't buy. I think the general consensus was that we were overpaying for Lala and Lovren and that any young player at £20mill is a risk. Ultimately though we only really judge these lads over a period of time despite the odd moan and groan or OTT reaction to a decent game. My biggest issue this summer was that by not getting in a player (such as Sanchez) we completely stalled momentum wise.
Ah no sorry there's 6/7 good sides given how utd spanked us despite us playing well how well Southampton play and then there's arsenal, west ham and such Just cos the top two are another level doesn't mean we can rank those with sunderland
All I'm saying is evidence of the eyes is rarely wrong and for whatever reason the boy was really poor and never showed even a glimpse of oace even in his first 3 months. No at least he looks decent.
I totally agree, but what did we expect of a young kid however talented and whatever the fee. Unfortunately we didn't buy enough class (or keep the class we had) so that the younger players we bought had time to settle without having to be relied upon too soon. We needed players that are good enough (and experienced enough) to settle straight away, instead we bought a player who's never settled anywhere in his career What we've seen of Marko the last few weeks is a bit of potential. It means little yet, we see very talented players flop at every club of course but better we're seeing more good signs than bad eh He is still going to get caught out especially playing unfamiliar roles that's inevitable but he's definitely improved his work rate already and he looks more confident so if that keeps up he'll earn a good run in the team. After that it's up to him to develop.
