Here's the first rumour of the new window: "Fulham are understood to be showing an interest in Nottingham Forest utility player Greg Halford. Nottingham Forest manager Stuart Pearce wants to make room in his Nottingham Forest squad for new additions. Halford has recently been on loan with Brighton - who are keen to take the versatile performer on a more permanent basis. While Fulham are also now said to be keen on the player, who turned 30 during his loan spell on the south coast. Halford is out of contract in the summer and Forest would be happy for him to leave the club on a free transfer or on a long term loan deal. The much travelled defender, midfielder or forward, had impressed at centre-half during Albion's recent three-match unbeaten league run, culminating in the 2-0 win at Fulham under caretaker Nathan Jones. " Having missed the Brighton game last week can't comment. Anyone at the match got any views on him?
Since this rumour appeared he has resigned on loan for Brighton til the end of the season so unlikely to be going anywhere!
According to the Daily Mail we are thinking of bidding £3m for Bournemouth’s Matt Ritchie. please log in to view this image The 25 year old has scored 6 times for them this year and has a contract till 2016. However the report says that he’s on £9k per week and we’re prepared to offer him double that. Source: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...urce=rss&utm_medium=Sendible&utm_campaign=RSS Wouldn’t have thought that was our priority position …. Unless of course Kit is mindful to changing the current system!
My Bournemouth friends say Ritchie has been their star man in the last couple of months. If we sign him I'll do a Bidley and combust with glee. That said, I think there's more chance of Kit offering me a contract than there is of Bournemouth agreeing to sell - to anyone - in this window.
I remember watching a Yeovil vs Swindon game when Dan Burn was on loan at Yeovil and Matt Ritchie was playing for Paolo Di Canio's Swindon. I watched it hoping to see a good performance from Burn but Swindon won 4-1 and all I could think about afterwards was how good Ritchie was, his delivery was outstanding. Like Captain I'd be very surprised if Bournemouth were willing to sell but they are rumoured to be close to signing Demarai Gray, an 18 year old winger from Birmingham so maybe if they sign him they may be willing to let Ritchie go.
New contract and a goal for Matt Ritchie today; I think it's safe to say he's not a realistic target for us right now.
I see that in the transfer rumours that the 3 bottom premiership clubs are reported to be interested in Kyle Naughton, with a fee of around about 3m. This guy would surely suit us, and please don't say we cannot afford him, where has the parachute payment gone ?, and remember the window will soon be closing.
I've seen a couple articles talking up Hyndman recently and one suggesting he's attracting the attention of some big clubs. Really hope we can hold on to him, LVC and Roberts and see them develop but suspect we'll lose at least one in the summer.
On any player that plays in the league above us Fulham need to sell the vision of where we want to be. Keegan did it with Coleman. I'm not saying that Naughton is the same calibre of player as Cookie but the principle remains the same for me. If the 2,5 and 10 year plan is this then the player can buy in to it. He won't be coming in for the money and then buggering off when Stoke or Hull come calling next year.
Indeed, especially taking into account time to complete our legendary medicals. Ho, hum ...... Mitroglou last January come to mind! No, your'e right rosc. The deadline is 11pm on February 2nd so we're already half way through.
20 days to go and as yet no sign of Kit bidding or Kahn putting his hand into hi deep pockets. Is he going to turn out to be a cash pocketing chairman.
Given the money he spent last January, plus the fee for McCormack, it looks like he won't be a cash pocketing chairman. Just because we haven't heard anything doesn't mean nothing's going on. We might need to move players off the wage bill before we bring new faces in; we might be negotiating, quietly on any number of deals; Kit might have said he wants to go with what he's got (stranger things have happened, though I can't think of any offhand). In short, It's a bit too soon to start complaining about the transfer window.
Thinking back to the summer, some of the business we done was quite 'hush hush' and not much was mentioned until they were actually signed. Hoogland and Bodurov come to mind.
Kit on transfers: "We're in discussions with a couple of clubs about a couple of players." From today's presser.
Robert 'Hoofer' Huth is available on loan and according to the Daily Mail we are interested. ...... Not even with a Barge Pole .....
Apparently we're looking at Leicester striker Chris Wood, no idea if on loan or a transfer but my first thought would be that we already have, or should i say HAD a player like him, he's currently on loan at Bristol City and scoring goals for fun.
