I love how Stoke-arsenal has become such a grudge match.<laugh>

Smalling was all over Pelle at almost every set piece today. Poor refereeing from Dowd to let him get away with it constantly.

Thought Dowd was very poor today - a complete homer.

He wasn't a homer. In the second half he gave us more decisions than United. And we can't single out Dowd for not penalising shirt pulling at corners when very few referees do.

The wind of change is blowing like a hurricane through the media. According to MOTD2, Southampton FC are officially neither plucky, nor little, anymore. No mention of poor ManU [because they weren't], but much more that Saints deserved the victory.

That's all we've ever wanted. A fair appraisal. Now for that Champions League ambition. I don't know about you, but I rather finish higher than 4th.

There is subtle shirt pulling and then there is trying to rip the shirt off your opponents back.. Dowd is gutless for not giving us a penalty.

The occasion that Smalling had dragged Pelle's shirt up to his chest was straight in front of Dowd who was no more that 5m away.
There was no occasion that Smalling didn't have both hands either dragging his shirt off his back or wrapped around his front
    Absolutely ridiculous

Surprise surprise, he often does. He was on MOTD2 Extra at midday today, and most of his contribution was witty, well considered and informative.

Perhaps it was just a defender's way of asking for Pelle's shirt after the game. He thought he'd get his request in early and keep reminding Graziano throughout the game. Let's face it, that glossy dark blue away shirt looks slick.

When they showed the goal replay the bench's reaction it did make me laugh. As you know, when you watch the sequence, the bench know something is about to happen and the ball doesn't actually cross the line for a good few seconds, so they are all frozen in this posture until the release of celebration.

Too early for any news on Toby? Worried as a pulled thigh is a long one. Hopefully only tweaked and he did come off straight away, preventing extra damage

For the first time in many a season, I want to do them a lot more than I wanted us to do you... And believe me, I wanted today a hell of a lot. Too many long years and batterings up there at your place.

Thanks for being gracious in defeat.
