Ashley paid 7 million for both firms and will inject 20 million to help them... £0 for NUFC as of yet.

DL only states we have paid for training ground improvements (which every team does) and agent fees and wages for there exciting bosmans and the 4 million for Cabaye which they made up for by selling the club captain... I myself think the comments are almost insulting.

See people keep saying this about Nolans fee covering Cabaye....when did they say his fee was going back into the club for transfers? Cabaye came from part of the £35m and Nolans deal will not be used for transfer money

He's also said that they aren't looking to spend it all right away as there is the January transfer window.

Personally I couldn't give a flying **** if the £35 Mill has been spent or not, the fact players are being brought in and we have acted quick to do so shows good intent.

No disrespect to Sunderland but £8 million on Wickham can see him being like another Beckford who has hardly set the league alight, I'm happier with what we've brought in rather than blowing sheds loads of like Fat Freddie used to.
End of the day it's his club and he'll do as he pleases, rich people don't become rich by throwing money about!!!!!

I'm not a Mike Ashley fan, but anyone who thinks that he's drawing money out of the club is misguided. Maybe he's stopped pumping money in but a football club is not a cash cow.

As for the point of view that it doesn't matter if we haven't spent money as long as we have got good players, that of course is true. It does matter, however, if the club is unwilling to spend money because, sooner rather than later, our choices will be to spend money or miss out on all good players.

    http://www.journallive.co.uk/north-...uys-two-luxury-clothing-firms-72703-29003350/

Claims his business generated an increased profit of 50%. The fat lads doing well for himself. Be interesting to see his business stats next week. Who knows he might send a bit more our way ;-)

I believe in part what Llambias says, transfer fees of £4.5m, training ground investment say £1m, Simpson and Tiotes new deals say £1m in fees. Abeid, Marveux and Ba signing on and agent fees of around £5-6m???

I reckon they have put a hole in the £35m but it isnt all invested yet. Around £12m or even say £15m spend at a guess..... Still leaves a fair whack to go.

To be fair they are looking at Erdinc for £7-8m, add fees in he is going to be around £10m (although whether he comes is in doubt). They have claimed they will be in the market for another striker, say the same price and fee range and thats the other £20m gone.

Ashleys a businessman and a bloody good one looking at this article. We arent in the Hall and Shepherd era anymore where we blow massive amounts on mercenaries. Time will tell if Ashleys reign has been good for the club but i feel more comfortable in his hands than if fat Freddy was ploughing us further into the red.

When you look at the players we have brought in before this transfer window - Tiote & Ben Arfa and the fee's we've paid for them. I really belive we have one of the best scouts in the business in Graham Carr, and the players we've now brought in will be of a very good standard.
So why do we need to worry about how much we've spent!!!!
I've heard Ba got a £4 million signing on fee and then there were agents fee's on top of that. So I do belive money is being spent, just Ashley et al are being frugal.
What ever this board do they can never satisfy everyone, were either not spending enough or spending to much!!!!

We need a right back, forward and 2 wingers and a left back if someone comes in for Jose... won't see all those filled.

it isn't scaremongering it's just stating that we don't seem to want to spend the majority of the Carroll money and we DL is using agent fees as an excuse before the window shuts.

I really hope all of our new signings turn out to be master strokes and i,m as sick as everyone else at the money we wasted (owen , luque , xisco etc) but you have to spend a bit of money to get a decent 10-15 goal a season striker. We seem to be getting blown out the water by so called less wealthy clubs. I,m not sure about bidding for zog, but i would take a punt on sturridge

And how long is left of the transfer window?

We'll see when the window closes where we are

  19. Just because Ashley is spending money on something, doesn't mean he's spending the 35 million in question.

Ashley is a Billionaire, he has more than the 35 million from Carroll at his disposal.

There is no amount of 50 pound notes with a "money from Carroll" label on them, so don't assume that since he's spending money elsewhere, that we should subtract the amount spent from how much we're hoping to get.

I'm sorry but you people need to go out there, walk a bit outside & just RELAX. Loads of things could happen before the end of the window. <ok>
