Maybe we should try some of the players in some unorthodox roles to see how they get on, desperate times call for desperate measures. As others have said, Maguire up top may be a good call. I know it was a totally different league and scenario but we used to play Swanny up front when he was allegedly a Centre Back and look how that turned out (obviously i don't refer to his scintillating commentary on Blunderside here).

Ideally signing a decent striker is paramount but that may not be a viable proposition.

People calling for centre backs to be played upfront must be mad , were no longer a league two side ! How the hell would putting a defender upfront improve things

I we think we have 3 options.

    1) Bring Sagbo back from the naughty step or wherever he has been, get him fit and work on him being a target man with Ince playing off him until we get another striker in.

    2) Put Karim Rossi in there, he's about 6ft and he will put himself about. He won't be the next Ibrahimovic, Dzeko or Costa, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

    3) Get Sanogo in on loan ASAP and set a team up to play to his strengths, as it seems Defoe is holding out for Spurs to take him back on loan.

I wonder if James Wilson may be available on loan from Man United? I would be surprised if Bruce didn't enquire about him.

Keeps making Utds bench - which is odd considering it's keeping Falcao out the team.

I'd hardly say Wilson being on the bench was keeping Falcao out the team.

Before today Falcao had started the last 5 games. Van Gaal explained his absence today as it being part of the squad rotation & hinted he'd be back next week.

    Basically, your statement is wrong.

Wilson on the bench meant Falcao wasn't (regardless of rotation) which means Wilson is in their plans and therefore unlikely to be available for loan... Hardly wrong.

    Simmer down.

You do realise we have no other strikers available and we are desperate. It's either one of our youngsters, Sagbo or Sanogo.

Plus we don't have much money to spend, what do you suggest we do?

The problem with sanogo is he hasn't looked very good when playing for arsenal , with the very little service he will get here he is Manucho in the making

Falcao was out of the team today. Wilson didn't keep him out of the team because Wilson also wasn't in the team.

Prior to today's game Falcao had played the previous 5 games, which means not only is Wilson not keeping him out the team, neither is anybody else.

Sombody played instead of Falcao today, but it wasn't Wilson. If it had been Wilson you may be able to claim that Wilson had kept him out of the team for today's match. To claim Wilson's keeping Falcao out of the team infers that Wilson has played a number of continuous games at Falcaos expense, which basically, & factually, is wrong.

    I meant squad :p

But let's not deviate from the point I was trying to make about Wilson being unavailable to loan (I don't care about Man Utd's goings on or Falcao).
