Southampton are incredibly impressive. Not much to offer yet in attack, but they are perfectly organized. Schneirderlin and Wanyama are fabulous. What a def mid pairing. Combination of steel and skill. Thought they were gonna fall down the table some this year, but they're far better than last year. How do they find and bring these players in, at reasonable prices, with such regularity? Fabulous academy I know, but FFS, why are they that much more advanced in scouting and signing impactful prem players?
well deserved win it was a good game from start to finish ,soton very well drilled all over the pitch
well i watched it and that was my opinion ,the bbc said it was crap ,if you had watched it you would have an opinion as well, maybe with mine or the other ,i watch a game and can think its good without goals or many shots on target its the overall football and tactics as well for me anyway. EXCEPT when we play and win 1-0 and were ****e as if.
Goals and to a lesser extent shots on target are usually good indicators of matches. Not the be all and end all like you say. I'll tkae your word for it since you watched it.
Really? Watched it down the pub with a dozen others and we all lost interest, including the Manc's! First half was ****e!
Koeman, Pochettino & Adkins > Poyet, O'Neill, Bruce Cortese/whoever else runs the club and makes signings/Youth team bosses > Short, Byrne, Congerton, mad ginger Italian. Not a complaint or a criticism of our owner/board members/manager but from top to bottom we haven't been run as well as they have in footballing terms for a few years.
Was really commenting more on Southampton than the game. But, think about it. They go to OT, playing against RVP, ADM, Rooney and Mata and co and Man U doesn't get a single shot on goal. Soto is really good. They may be a top 4 side.
Not just me Stu, BBC and Indestructble as well. But as you say, it's all about opinions. Man U's last ball was awful. Gave the strikers nothing to work with. At the half hour mark, they were just lobbing in long balls. Not the Man U I remember.
i enjoyed it a good tactical game by soton and lets not forget they were lots of peoples choice to struggle this season
I know they got a result Outlaw, and kudos for that, but first half they were always on the back foot. They were happy to sit back and soak up the Man U attacks. Not much ambition going forward. It was a truly boring first half. I'd love to see them get a top 4 mate. Can't wait to see a "small" club breach the top 4 and be successful in Europe. Just to prove it can be done! I'd guess 99% would back me up in that!! Just my opinion though Stu.
no worries ,dont know much about their overall squad but they seem very well organised and yes i would also like to see them in the top four
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30772056 More and more I get the feeling Gus doesn't do this... just plays the same old way week in week out, regardles of opposition...
Saw their line-up 10 minutes or so before kick off and hardly recognised any of their squad. If they can believe in themselves and push on I can see them getting 4th. Liverpool and Arsenal are so average at the minute, now's the chance for a small team to make it big!
