Do you think TF will give Harry much more time? It's all getting incredibly tight down there at the bottom. I noticed we are only 5 points off 12th place which is crazy.
I don't think QPR is TF's main focus at the moment. Which is of course great news for everyone else in the bottom twelve.
This!!! ( Except of course Tim Sherwood who looks too much like Jeremy Kyle & Bradley Walsh and I can't tolerate chavs. That would be quite simply a preposterous appointment. ) please log in to view this image
Bradley Walsh probably has more tactical awareness than old Dino chops. Redknapp is taking us down and sadly, given the events with Air Asia, the board will sleep walk us to relegation.
I understand a lot of the sentiments on here and sympathise with the frustration of all the supporters at being served up more crap football. Probably the biggest hurt is the lack of passion/desire from the players and management to "fight" for our survival. I'm not sure that a management change at this time is the best option, TF should tell Harry that he will be gone at the end of the season and if he can keep QPR in the Premier League there is a big fat bonus for him and the players. Changing the manager now will not guarantee survival (look at what happened with Redknapp first season), it's too easy to then blame the previous manager for failure and the bigger question is who do we bring in...................Warnock again !!! That way we have a number of months to bring in a decent manager (one with passion and tactical awareness) who can spend time sizing up the squad and deciding to formulate himself who should be here at the end of the season and who shouldn't. The fact is, this squad of players should be able to play well enough together and ensure that we are at least fourth worst in this league. The poor quality at the foot of the Premier League this year is our best chance for survival as there are many teams worse than us, it's just that they play together much better than we do. More complementary players rather than individually brilliant/talented players.
If they play much better as a team than us I don't really see how they can possibly be worse teams than us!?
I was referring to the individual quality of the players who collectively do not look as strong on paper, but are much better at performing together on the pitch.
Ah fair enough. I see what you mean.....but I am now just losing all faith and struggle to see any teams worse than us now. And its pretty much all down to the away form, results, tactics, mentality. Everywhere I look I see bottom placed teams fighting and picking up points here and there but us?
HR is one of the best paid managers in the world. Add to that the army of back room staff and we still don't get any noticeable benefit compared to the lower profile managers.
That's why when the time comes, I'd rather go for a manager with something to prove, younger in age and with more long-term career ambitions than just get through a season at a time. I don't particularly care if he's never worked in the Premier League before as long as he can inject some pride & passion into our players, which in turn will lead to best-effort performances.
I struggle to see that our players are better than any other team has in the PL. Possibly fit and in form but too many aren't often enough. Add to that we have an obviously poor Management team when it comes to basics of a tactical plan, firing up all the players, collective team play and an organised defense, for me it's obvious Harry should be sacked, if he won't resign himself. It's too late mow for Pulis or Pardoe, not long enough most younger Managers. Warnock or Laudrup for me, Colin I think, as he's kept us up before and knows us well.
When did Warnock keep us in the Prem? At the point he was sacked we were in a lower position with less points than the corresponding point this season. His record is two full seasons in the premiership, relegated both times, two partial seasons, sacked both times. If he is the answer I'd rather keep Redknapp. If we stay up (no way he'd come if we go down) I'd try to tempt de Boer from Ajax and give him full licence to redesign the club in Ajax's image from kids on up. If we go down, prise Paul Clement from Ancelotti in Real Madrid, and give him a few seasons. Sack Redknapp now and let Hoddle/Les caretake until the end of the season.
As much as I was embarrassed when we were going through managers like nobody's business and I was pro Harry when he arrived, I do think it is coming to a point where he should go or it should at least be a consideration. Change is as good as a rest and all that. While I wouldn't say he's taken us backwards, I don't think he's brought us forward much either. I'm not sure who I'd take instead though.
This is so key. To play him to prove a point. Then to have no tactical plan. We gave ball away all the time instead of passing to Adel - we have a team who hoofed to ball back to Burnley again and again. Makes no sense. Hence a lack of a plan from the manager. What play a playmaker and then hoof long balls to the opposition?
