My view is that, as the idea and funds came primarily from this board, and this board represents probably the largest single collection of City fans, a subtle nod to the board is fair enough.
I don't object too much to the board being on there, except that since other groups have donated large amounts that's a bit unfair on them. If it's tucked in the corner like on the Bruce one it might not be too bad. It's the subject of the banner itself I'm more bothered about. If we go with some stock multi-club phrase like 'Cmon You Ambers' or something it'll be ****. If it's something unique to us it could be brilliant.
! I'm not sugesting not606 is the only thing on the flag. This is a bonus flag. It's also not do or die. Now we've a process, we can always lok at other designs for future flags.
There's nowt wrong with them at all. No one has suggested there is. They should however come from other sources. The banner from here, is from Not606 and was to show a display of support for the manager and team. If you want an alternative message, raise with it AKACTWD (seriously, the Morley one is PERFECT for them). On a plate in fact. Naturally you'd insist they don't have their name on it wouldnt you? CoC? Erm, its in 2 years time, why the hell would you want a banner from Not606 up right now for this? I'm surprised that a moderator of this forum thinks that the site is tacky. I'm not so surprised that you think showing our support for the manager and players is tacky. Unfortunately we've attracted a few people like you. I'm also not surprised you want to remove any involvement and acknowledgement of this site, where the idea was created, grown and brought to fruition. Only you and your chums could turn something so positive and awesome (thanks again Dutch) into something else. If you want a classier match day experience, I believe the likes of Arsenal and Man C might be more up your street. We're a little more rugged and tacky than that. Not606 Player of the Year <image of said player> Some pithy slogan Job done.
The problem with doing flags with players on them, unless they're legends, is the fact that there's half a chance you'll have to throw it away in six months when the player leaves.
Black n Amber Army is chanted in support isn't it? I think you miss the point with Not 606 being on the banner. Its not prominent on the Bruce banner, it just identifies who raised the funding and is not part of the message. As for other groups putting in funds, they contributed financially, but had no input as groups on the design. The location of the Bruce banner will be adjusted, circumstances and timing affected its current placement and as soon as it can be adjusted it will be. Instead of arguing about it, with all of the points scoring, lets get some ideas that we can vote on and get another one sorted.
i've asked about this and it was missed. What groups and how much and how do you know? If other groups want to do a banner raise the money themself. This was all about the individuals of this board and uniting behind SB and the team. I like the player of the year but as someone else says they could be playing against us next year. I wasnt asking for Hull not 606 to takeover the banner but it should be on there definitely. I cant find the other thread where this was all discussed can anyone post a link?
Kin ell. It's a great design. It celebrates history. AKACTWD place great emphasis on history. It's a match made in heaven for them. No agenda, no digs, I just think it would be ideal for them if they want to appeal to as many people as possible without politicising their message. Regarding player of the year from Not606, sure they could be gone next year but I don't see that as a problem otherwise we'd need to stick to legends which is always subjective or tacky generic ones.
The Bruce one was specifically to send a message to the manager this season, it's completely different.
Can someone create a poll for this with the 3 or 4 options that have been suggested as nothing seems to be moving now, I'm only asking as I have a couple of days off in the next couple of weeks and can make a big dent into getting it done
Oh I'm sorry, how much should I have donated to have an opinion? I didn't realise there was a sliding scale which gave specific perks. I hope your donation matched your entitlement to be a huge ****. My suggestion about the Morley one was quite serious. I'd forgotten you don't like being told what to do, and you probably wouldnt be able to organise something as complicated as getting enough money together for a AKACTWD banner without sticking your hand in your own pocket. Imagine, you and your little chums attempting to steamroller and spoil sommat. So, yeah, **** you.
