This Championship is a very strange division, and right now it's still not certain which three teams you'd put money on to go up ... Bournemouth, despite patchy form (and a 3-1 home thumping by the Whites) are still at the top, but you have to feel they will start slipping more and more as their small squad gets tested at the business end of the season ... expected co tenders like Forest, Wigan, Brighton and Fulham have all struggled badly ... relegation favourites Birmingham City are suddenly flying up the table, and if they keep going they will be in the top six for sure

The one thing we know about the Championship is that EVERYONE struggles at some point and has a bad run, its how long that run continues that makes the difference to your season ... now, the play-offs may still look a long way off, but if we won ten of the next fifteen we'd be right up there, because we know teams will be dropping points, and most teams can't afford injuries/suspensions to key players because they don't have the squads to cope

Of course, the big question is can Leeds put a run together .... we certainly haven't looked like doing it, simply because we don't seem capable of keeping clean sheets ... yes, we've suffered a few heartbreakers along the way (think Blackburn) and could easily be at least twelve points better off now

If we can keep playing for 90 minutes each match we will be in the contest, and results will come ... not many teams in this league go to the end, and we know there's not too much quality about, so the only thing stopping Leeds going on a run is Leeds ... we have been our own worst enemies on and off the pitch, but if Redders can get a battling eleven out there each week we may just have a chance of getting close

Yes, it may be super optimistic to think we will get above 15th place, but this is the Championship, and all it takes is a litttle five or six game run and suddenly confidence is high and then anything is possible ... then again, this is Leeds we're talking about

Even Boggers wouldn't have dared suggest we could make the play off places. I just think I am on a different planet at times.

Birmingham have improved but the last 6 league games they have beat Wigan, Forest, Huddersfield and Reading, all bottom half teams. They lost to Derby the only top half team they played in that and Blackpool. I still think Birmingham are better than us but they won't finish top 6

Whatever you are smoking must be strong stuff. Can you Get me some?
Right now there isn't one of us who wouldn't be happy to finish fourth bottom.

Absolutely correct Billy there are too many detractors on here look at Crystal P in the bottom 3 just before Christmas under Dowie and got promoted!
I thinkit will depend as you quite rightly say on back to back wins and possibly a few new loanees
I am delighted Charlie Taylor is doing so well along with Cooper

I really really hope that you prove everyone wrong and this turns out to be the case. But based on our current appalling run of form and general overall performances, I'm going to have to join with glory in asking for some of whatever you are smoking.

If we finish 15th, we'll have had a decent second half of the season compared to the story so far.

Your favourite word at the moment I suggest you look up the real meaning and tell us what is "unfair". I base my opinion on 12 month worth or results and league position, you base yours on constant "What Ifs".

Yes what if we win 6 on the trot, I will tell you now we won't.

Looking up the definition of the word confirmed it to be what I thought. I can see why the term has been used, and it seems like a perfectly apt term to use. And no, I don't want to get drawn into anything here - just presenting a reasonable opinion on the use of the word.

    detractor
    dɪˈtraktə(r)/
    noun
    plural noun: detractors
    1. a person who disparages someone or something.
"the island, say its detractors, has been devoured by development"
      synonyms: critic, disparager, denigrator, deprecator, belittler, attacker, censurer,fault-finder, carper, backbiter, caviller, reviler, vilifier, slanderer, libeller,calumniator, defamer, traducer;

I am not going toget into the debate on the personalities concerned ( including me). But only history will show who had it right and who was the detractor/ denier..... At this time its about opinion and or blind faith.

The one thing we can all agree on is that this league is unpredictable at best. On any given day anybody can beat anyone or that what it used to be.

Yes there is always one team that comes up from the rear of the pack and ends up in the top 6 e.g. Blackpool but with the Parachute Payments it's getting harder. You look at Derby last year they did well because they had McClaren and we don't have jack with in comes to management/coach.

We can throw money in to the playing team and it can get you nowhere and nowhere fast look a Leicester until last season the amount of money they' pumped in to their squad for 4 years or so.

we COULD get in to the top six but it will have to Biblical Miracle and a lot of fire crackers up the players arses.

So what would you suggest we do to move it on?
    I am not disagreeing btw.
It's just this is a forum about leeds and we are either improving or getting worse depending on your opinion and it all comes back to that.

That's spot on actually glory. I was reading Eire's posts here and I completely agree. Nearly every thread does seem to take the same spin these days, but with the club in its current state there are always going to be people who see the positives and those who see the negatives. We need some new thread direction. I'll have a think too
