So all those England flags shouldnt have Basingstoke Redditch etc on them? This idea came about by dutch suggesting a show of support for Steve Bruce and the team from this board. Its getting hijacked into something else now. It shouldnt.
I like the Cobb Morley design, but if someone has other ideas, it'd be good to see them, or at least for them to be described.
It's hardly being hijacked, as far as I can see the Cobb Morley idea has the support of the majority.
It's a Not606 banner. It should state that. If anyone else wants a banner, they can arrange their own. Its ****ed up that the people arguing that it isn't, and suggesting that having the Not606 logo on there is wrong or tacky all things considered is slightly disingenuous at best and ****ing hypocritical at worst. Why try and deny and ignore that its a Not606 banner? I like the Morley idea, but, its the sort of thing I'd expect AKACTWD to come up and use, not this forum. Its a generic history thing. Would make a fab banner with some tweaking to the type on tho, great work Mauled fella. I've been pondering recently what we do with the Not606 Player of the Year, and you know what, this is the PERFECT idea, do a Not606 POTY banner. Put the year on and it just becomes part of the history and doesnt date. Will give the other players something to aspire to as well! This was always meant to be about supporting the manager, and thus the team. It was never about politics, or anything else, and it was always meant to be from and by Not606, please stop trying to take that away.
I think the player of the year banner is a good one. I like the Cobb Morley one, makes us a little different from the Liverpool and Chelsea ones. After all we are the only team that can claim him. I wonder how good it would look if the shades of light grey were shades of amber.
I don't see anything political about a Cobb Morley flag, I just think it's a nice idea for something a bit different. If people want a not606 logo on it, then fine, I just don't see the point, it's just something for the lads of CI and AN to take the piss out of. Why not just let everyone who donated vote on which option they prefer?
Ok, I like that idea too. So what about something with Curtis Davis on? We'll just have to make sure nobody wins it twice. Of the two, I prefer the Cobb-Morley one.
Chazz called it right, by reminding us of where the concept came from and what it was about. Cobb Morley is a great idea and I do like the artwork. But no one is going to start a chant on the back of seeing him on a banner. Any banner has to include not 606 on in, and I do not care what other forums think. Liam Rossienor "His Nan is from Ull" would be a possible for me. At least we know he will still be here for the rest of the season.
I can't for the life of me understand what's wrong with Morley or CoC, just cos it's being discussed on this board. Our club has such a tacky image at times, and rather than have a classy, historic thing, some people want yet more tacky generic stuff, but with the name of a messageboard on. Don't get it at all.
We've already done the In Bruce We Trust banner as originally planned, this is about what we do for an additional banner, we don't need two with the same message.
