The next 5 games are now clearly going to show what the season out come is going to hold. Home to : Man Utd Southampton Away to : Stoke Sunderland Hull For me we need to get 7 points to remain in contention to stay up. Can see only 3 if I am realistic , and that includes two away draws at Sunderland and Hull It's not looking good tbh
when you look at it now, conceding against Swansea in the last minute was a disaster. Another 2 points at this stage would be invaluable. With the away record record we now have it's going to do do one of two things - spur them to work harder to break the duck or, more likely, prove to be an albatross around our necks and heads will drop every time we step into an away dressing room. Barton's lack of form (and Sandro's injury) is a real problem for us at the mo as we really can't carry anyone at this stage and that position is crucial in protecting a very leaky back 4.
It will be total carnage at home to Utd. After that, we may be lucky to get a point from any of those games. Harry is taking us down.
0 points is an entirely credible return from those games. I think we'll pick up a couple or so, somehow, just to give a glimmer of hope and prolong the agony.
The last three games were pivotal. We ought to have beaten both Palace and Swansea and secured at least a draw at Turf Moor. All of our immediate competition (perhaps with the exception of Hull) are ascending in form and confidence for various reasons, new managers and £9m strikers included. I think on the recent form, we will finish bottom, with Hull and Villa likely to join us in the championship. I'm not even convinced a change of manager will any difference. There is just no apparent desire.
I believe that 5 points from these 5 games is the best we can hope for. Interesting that the next two home games are Man Utd and Saints, who are playing today (Saints 1-0 victors). Man Utd defence is very fragile and has been exposed many times in this match, something we must take advantage of.
I hope Di Maria and Mata play next week, the first is crap and the second is still having nightmares from the last time he played at LR.
That was one of the funniest things ever at LR. The way he gave the ball to Rooney and refused to go back "there" was brilliant.
Er, that happened when he was playing for Chelsea and Lampard took the ball from him. And I think you'll find di Maria is quite good and will enjoy playing against Clint Hill.
Let's see ........... Man U - We may struggle to get all 3 points at home. Probably lead the match with Calker giving away a penalty or just bad play. Prediction - 1-1 Saints - No worries here, we'll piiss this one in. 3 points in the bag already. Stoke - At Stoke ........... well, I'm told Harry has offered Hughes big dollars to take Crouchie for one half. Crouch plays first half for us and scores! Crouch plays second half for Stoke and scores. Prediction 1-1. Sunderland - Bartolli ( Liverpool ) reckons he's froze his nuts off there today. No problems for us, we have a number of players with no balls at present. Prediction 0-1 to us!!!!!!! Hull - This is the one I'm worried about. Genuine relegation fodder whose manager can offer as many excuses & talk as much crap as ours. Prediction - Hull 2-1. It's all good, folks ............... there's 8 points in it, honest!
Di Maria first match was against us.....and he was brilliant...I bet he is relishing playing us again.....
