One step forwards, two steps backwards.

Spurs are back in idiot mode.

    very, very disappointing.

That was a poor performance after dominating possession and taking the lead, but it's another game that's been decided by the ref.
In this case it's the same bloody ref that's been under fire for a bunch of recent **** performances.
Why the **** was he in charge of the game in the first place?

The team looked very leggy at the end and our midfield lacked any real focus throughout.
Those that Pochettino has been leaving out didn't do their claims for a start any good and we missed Mason and Bentaleb badly.
Very poor followup to the win against Chelsea.

Something tells me that the media won't be going on a witchhunt for the officials after this, though.
It'll be swept under the table and Pardew's great start will get the focus.
Palace did enough in the second half to deserve something and their crowd was excellent, but it leaves a rather bitter taste.

Well that was fairly pathetic, perhaps a touch of over confidence. But we were lucky to draw with them at home and with that momentum behind them then fair play. We have a lot of work to do. For 20 minutes we were in the top four so it could happen again.

This game did not do any favours for Capoue or Townsend - both of whom were crap.

Soldado barely had an impact either though he came on quite late.

Still, his inept performance does back up what I said in the ref's topic you started...

Lots of dodgy decisions, but to be fair Pardew does it again, with exactly the same tactics he beat us with last time. Pace at the end of the game. Respect is due. I only wish Poch predicted it better and planned accordingly.

Come on boys stop blaming the ref etc, we should have been well up against the second bottom team without any help or not.

  10. Townsend offers us nothing. Rose is a liability defensively and as PNP says there were some leggy performances out the towards the end. Bit harsh to criticise Capoue as he only had just over 10 mins and at least got a decent shot on target.
But if we're going to lose to anyone, especially with the 'help' of a dodgy decision or two, then losing to Palace eases the blow. Their support is just awesome.

We didn't play great, but that does not excuse inconsistent ref decisions. A draw would have been fair. The problem is that certain other teams playing the same match wouldn't have had that pen given against them, and may have got one themselves.

Poor, you could see it coming, we've done the samething after a few big results this season, they always seem to get followed up with dropped points against teams we should be beating. The way we reacted to going a goal up was awful and whilst the penalty looked a bad call we only have ourselves to blame for not sorting ourselves back out after that.

It's a tough result to take, especially given some of the refs decisions, but there we go, Palace played well in the second half and deserved something. Sunderland up next, they're a shambles that we really should be beating, what's the betting they get new manager by next weekend? :(

Just checked the BBC live feed - no mention of the Kane penalty incident.

Also - Sky very quickly brushed over Gayle's stamp on Lloris's neck to the point of no replay even being shown.

Can't say I'm even vaguely surprised. The same thing happens all the time with our games.
MOTD missed out the Young foul on Townsend that would've seen him go in the Man Utd game and the Cahill kick and stamp from the Chelsea game.

Well we are above you so yeah, normal service is resumed, I guess. Just need to beat you at the Lane to make it even more normal.

Been booing anymore wins this season, or have you realised you're not too good for Fat Sam?

My biggest criticism is that after the penalty we defensively fell apart and the 2nd goal looked inevitable and as far as I am concerned, that is unforgiveable. it was like watching the tottenham of old.
It confirms we desperately need another striker as Harry can not be expected to play every match and score all our goals. On top of that rose needs replacing and townsend is running out of chances...both were poor today imo.

Forgot about that, it was really nasty, there's no way he had to put his foot down there.

The replays I watched showed Stambouli both got the ball and then drew his leg back, while Kane was toe-tapped without the defender touching the ball. In other words, the first was clearly not a penalty and the second clearly was. They had a shout for a handball against Vertonghen, though as the phrase goes "it’s not usually given."

On the balance of play Palace certainly deserved a point. It would be nice to beat the poorer teams easily, but nobody really does. Many if not most come down to a decision or two by the refs, as three of our last four have. I’d say I’m disappointed with our performance, but the two main causes were Palace playing hard and us being tired. Erikson in particular seems to have lost his zip, after being key to our good run. It may be time to play two teams for a while to rest players.
