I can't say I'd be happy if that happens. We best have a quality CM lined up as a replacement, especially since we've been a different side since Lucas got back in the side.
 
Mr Shaqiri joined Inter on a 4.5 year contract costing half of lallana

I have no idea about Lucas given there is absolutely no replacement and 3 cups to play for in next 2 months. If we sell and stick Gerrard there I SUPPOSE it solves some short term selection headache for Rodgers but it'd rely utterly on injury free runs

We must be nuts as I am very confident we've no replacement

Finall berahino is a whatever... Comparing to Rooney is pointless... Anyone at the time could tell that Rooney was worth the 30mil even then

This kid looks like about 20 others frankly, if the fee was 15 mil ok but 23-25mil? Let spurs on

I'm all for selling Lucas but it would be suicidal if we don't have a replacement lined up.

Would be happy to have Can there but would prefer a dedicated DM so we're not relying on Can to play there all the time or in defence.

MITO - there is so much value on the continent such as Shaqiri and Firmino who both are younger, better current ability, double the potential and cheaper than Lallana. Rodgers loves average, overpriced Prem Proven players.

Agree with all this bar the final part, I wouldn't take Berahino at £5m never mind £15m!

Don;t you find it amazingly coincidently that all the players you don't rate happened to be Rodgers signings whereas the players you understand or like were signed by the panel...? <whistle>
 
May I just say that i find the term Prem proven interesting as I'm bit sure what it means

Shelvey... Prem proven
I dunno... Anyone playing prem for more than one season is prem proven

I'd say its anyone that's perform to a adequate (determined by the buying club) standard. IE, proven to be able to perform at the required level in that league.

I agree its a bit of bollox though <ok>
 
Than all that lovern, lambert and lallana proved is they are capable of getting 8th


And coincidentally they are doing the same to lfc

Going back to Lucas - I hope we have a replacement. Chances are, rodgers will move Can into midfield because rodgers is desperate to bring Lovren back.
 
That is as maybe but last year we ran out of cms with injuries/suspensions

If Lucas goes we'd have no more player than last in the position and if we see Allen already down and Gerrard with some tightness

Won't take much for us to be playing rossiter <laugh>

Putting aside the Lovren part, Can in midfield would be great

Bollocks you wouldn't take hi for £5m <laugh>

I'd take him for anything £10m or under but no chance he'd go for that because he's young and English. Thing is, you spend £15m-£20m on him now or wait for him to do it more than 1 season at which point, if he does, his value rockets up again.


If we're selling Lucas I'll be very pissed off. Yes, he's not the best player in the squad, but he's the best DM we have! As others have said, if we don't have a replacement lined up to come in this Jan in place of him I'd be even more annoyed, especially as it means Gerrard will probably be played there all season and come the end of the season we will need to replace both of them.
