Gotta give credit, where credit is due,the man was un-playable today.

Notts County players were frightened to death, they could not get near him.

MOM in my book, as steve cotterell said on the radio.
Results went well today, watch Coventry do us a favour on Monday beating the Swindon.

He was the world beater today which divides opinions when he doesn't play as well.

The most maligned player in the squad has been allowed to play to his strengths and out pops the class. At times he was deeper than Elliott and Freeman instead of all this up top put in a shift crap you hear too many wanting.

You've said a lot of things. very little of it has come true .. SOD will take us to the promised land being the most wildly ridiculous!

Notts county were a very, very poor side today, JET won't get that sort of space again this season, I'm reserving judgement for now, as for today he played very well indeed.

He is a good player for a mid tabled league 1 team week on week, if he plays more like that he will make it up the footballing food chain!

Loved watching Jet, he's worth the admission money alone.
The County defenders were like rabbits in headlights.

It's fantastic at the Gate right now.
I genuinely think it will get better as the season goes on.

liked the SC interview.. said had to play as they did today and the subbing of ossie was because he had no strikers!

next week SCUUNY WILL BE a harder team to beat coming into form should be about 10th in the league realistically... more than a point will be good

Professional footballers are paid to perform at their best in every game and anything less is a poor excuse. Those who only show up when they feel like it, or when they claim to be played out of position, are not true to their chosen profession.

Although I applaud JET for yesterday's performance I have to say we expect him to show the same amount of effort every time he is chosen, although his starting appearances have been very limited, but perhaps yesterday's showing will get him more starts.

Osbourne up front was to get him running and chasing the ball to improve his fitness.
Also a head to aim for with crosses.

This was a clever move by SC " to maintain the aerial aspect and not un balance the team"

A footballer played out of position will not be able to perform at their best. It is unrealistic to expect Jay Emmanuel-Thomas to be able to perform in any role when others cannot do what he can.

Earlier this season Emmanuel-Thomas was played pushed up v the last man, but he doesn't have the core skills to carry out the role. His recent upturn has been due to positional changes in the XI allowing him to face up the pitch rather than down it.

Quite agree. I've put us down for a draw but a defeat wouldn't be totally unexpected. Not that I want us to lose...!!!!!

A player with his skill and touch should be able to hide the ball for you and lay it off, it wasn't too much to expect of him. there is also no reason why playing with his back to goal he could not lay and play himself in.

There is every reason why he can't, he isn't very good / awful at leading a line and chasing bits. The same goes for other skillful players in the team. He is isn't that good at all with his back to the goal, have watch at his lack of ability with balls the deck he backs in and it doesn't stick or sails over his head.

Turn him around, let him look for his space and assist and goals appear. It is a a different player.

Yesterday first goal came from dropping off behind four or five City players - A position he earlier this season he would not be allowed to drop off into due to the formation. Agard and Willbraham wouldn't be able to do similar to Emmanuel-Thomas v Notts County, but Emmanuel-Thomas is expected to play as they do in their positions!!!.

Not only was he man of the match, but he also appears to be a really nice kid. eg. removing shirt and giving to youngster in Atyeo, never seems to shun signing autographs and invariably passes ball to flag wavers when he comes out, also make s a point of making contact with people on touchline. I also agree he is better in certain positions and may make a really good creative midfield player.
