Thought that Van Arnholt is getting better game by game. We just looked like we couldn’t be arsed, another team would had got a draw today. I’m really disappointed in the result, never mind losing but only if we’ve done our upmost, this wasn’t one of those days.

PVA was appalling in the first half but decent 2nd. Can not understand why jones wasn't picked.

Gomez and Seb probably need a rest but his hands were tied there. Giacch could've played deeper but Alvarez starting might have been the wrong decision too.

Feel as bad after that as I did after Hull. Worse maybe.

Starting to lose faith. Wouldn't thank you for a season ticket at the minute.

Seemed like a good attacking starting line up however it still did not offer much at all going forward once the game started ,very poor ,very poor indeed ,one home win since october thats a message coming through loud and strong ,been looking forward to this all week only for the whole game from start to finish was crap from us against an average side IMO

Got off to a very slow start and very little improvement afterwards, Gomez and Vergini very poor whole game, Whicks is getting worse as the season progresses he losses the ball so easily its embarrassing. The sending off was a tad harsh and with no Catts or Rods we were up against it, remarkably we almost leveled the score with our first meaningful shot on 55 minutes, but apart from a couple of half chances we created nothing in the final half hour, again Gus made a hash of his substitutions and we have only won one home league game to date. We must improve or we are in danger of being dragged into trouble.

I honestly think Wimbledon gave Liverpool more of a game than we did. Today was very poor. All the teams below us have taken steps to improve(except QPR). Gus did not sound too upbeat about signings in the post match interview either

My theory. We were much better afrer bridcutt got sent off. Maybe because Gomez (who was ****e) was no longer involved going forward. (Yes I understand the irony of that comment)

Never a yellow card. Conoare it to most of Liverpool's fouls and it was nowhere near as bad. But that aside we were terrible

Didnt expect to win today, but would have hoped to have played well enough to deserve to get something out of the game! We should fancy our chances against Liverpool nowadays, but to play so badly that we didnt give ourselves a chance is unforgivable! Needs sorting out before our run of home fixture '6 pointers', otherwise we're in deep doo doo! Our relegation rivals are gonna more than fancy their chances when they turn up at our place! Things starting to get very mundane again in the life of a Sunderland supporter!

Danny boy looked like he wanted to score today, unlike whickham who just stood still most of the game.

Because we struggle to score, if the oppo go 1 up early on, we're always on the back foot, and with no real quality to put the opposition under pressure, we are always going to be in trouble.

It's okay playing a defensive game from the back if there's quality up front to rely on. We haven't got it.

If he doesn't start playing a more aggressive game, I worry about us. Just hoping he can bring some quality in soon.

And get rid of the dregs who are just a drain on resources!

I must agree i thought looking at the starting line up here we go an attacking line up at last but the side offered nothing what so ever, mings easiest game of the season

We lose the ball so poorly up top, only Giacca seemed able to control it, surely Gomez has had his last chance today he is so slow he will never make a premiership player. He is squad player material if that, to leave him on all game was a shocking decision.

Thought the ref was weak but not sure what you'd have managed even with him being impartial, the team just looked disinterested.

Kind of game that needed Cattermole in your side to rev the engine, it was all just a bit flat.

I though Graham looked lively when he come on, much more of a threat than Wickham.

How Gomez stayed on the pitch is a mystery. He was awful. Last year's Larsson turned up for work today unfortunately. Bridcutt was just silly, cant do that on a yellow.

Felt sorry for Wickham, 1 up front against 3 centre backs.

Dont see why he took Johnson Wickham or Giaccherini off our 3 biggest goal threats.

Cant defend Gus on those subs. I fear the knives might be out against Burnley if we slip into the bottom 3 after Spurs

The ref had nowt to do with how ****e we were today. We deserved nowt. Graham was probably our 3rd best player, which says it all!!

Christ, one win at home at this stage of the season is a very, very poor showing. Not quite in the ****e? We're right in the ****e. Believe it, because all season we can't finish off games we have had a very strong chance to win. Then there are games like today where we look like a league 1 team, if that.

The worrying thing is we show no signs of reversing this form. We get the odd positive blip, but that's all it is. A blip and we revert to being weak, slow and bereft of a will to win. Today we went backwards. ****ing pathetic.

I can blow these games off earlier in the season, but it is getting to crunch time. From 12th down it is a ****fest, so 8 others in the mix but right now I have limited faith we have the right approach to take them on and win at home in the so called 6 pointers.
