I can see the ****'s in power robbing us thanks, and I'd gladly send a few bankers to the guillotine. Also, I am not going about in fear of getting blown up by random nutters waving a Jihadi flag. But did those journalists in France deserve to die? Is there an idealogical conflict between the values the West holds sacred, and those held sacred by a backwards looking religeon? Is there a large underclass of marginalised, mostly muslim youths in France who are easy prey to extremist ideas? Is there a similar community in many British cities? Is there a problem liberal democracies and muslims themselves ought to be addressing?

Like they do in France you mean? By banning the veil, and by insisting on the values of a secular Republic taking precedence over religion wherever there is a clash of interests? I rather respect the Froggies for that, and also for the way they are not ashamed to value their own culture.
Yes, I am against banning the veil - it's not always clear cut, but I believe in leaving people alone if they are doing no harm to anyone but themselves (if everyone had that attitude wouldn't life be much better?). You've got that socially aggressive (dare I say Thatcherite) attitude of trying to change people (or chop off their heads!). I don't want to change people forcefully if they are doing no harm to anyone else - by insisting on the 'aligned values' of the collective you want to coerce people who fall outside those values, just as the Jihadis do towards their collective - you are on the same side in this battle. I value Liberalism and individualism, I like the British culture because it's historically had a very liberal philosophy (in theory, if not always in practice) - if modern Britain changed from liberal to authoritarian then I wouldn't value British culture - I'm not in it for the ****y flag waving sentimentality.
Mick the French and Italians have a law forbidding it's citizens of covering their faces in public because that is historically the disguise of the bank robber or other criminals hiding their identity. It is the veil wearers that insist the law of the country be ignored to suit their beliefs. If you walk into a large shopping mall in London like Westfields people wearing hoods are told to pull them down or they get asked to leave, muslims wearing burkhas are left alone out of 'respect' in other words fear of looking racist. All schools in London only offer Halal meat on the menu out of 'respect' yet if a vegetarian Hindu attends the school they don't ban all meat out of 'respect' . I'm furious that a generation of schoolkids will miss out on a bacon roll at break time so as not to offend a minority group.
Well I agree, they are entitled to their delusions - but they not entitled to endless enjoyment of them. I used to work with a contracted Muslim fella who belonged to some weird sect and wouldn't eat anywhere that served meat, at all. Anyway when trying to plan working lunches (or even social lunches) it was impossible to include the stupid **** - so I didn't include him a lot of the time, and I'm pretty sure his career will suffer, if it hasn't already. That's his own problem, I'm not going to change myself to cater for someone else's fantasies - and that's not what I am asking for in liberalism - I'm asking that no Government forces me to cater for the ****, and no Government forces him to change if he's only hurting himself.
Have you heard of that geezer who is always getting arrested for walking around naked? His walking around in public wearing what he was born wearing is deemed unacceptable - so we are not completely free to wear (or not) what we please. Having said that I'm not for banning specific items of clothing as that would be just another ridiculous and largely unenforceable law. There are things we could do to perhaps help the situation such as coming down hard on these muzlamic hate preachers but then we'd be getting into censoring literature and the internet which would also be bad for freedom. Like I said before, the only people who can stop the rot are the muzzies, they need to police themselves and drive this **** out of their communities, out of their mosques and schools and work with the police and intelligence to nip any budding terrorists in the bud bud bud.
I have it on good authority that all KFC outlets only supply halal chicken. Only a few Nandos do this . My area of expertise.
Working in Casinos you usually get several 20 minute breaks in an 8 hour shift usually about 4 or 5 . It's a 24 hour industry and you are expected to eat during the 10 or 15 minutes beteeen leaving and returning to your table/position. During Ramadan a few Muslims complained that they needed 1 hour breaks to break their fast and eat and hey presto out of 'respect' or fear of being called racist they got their demands and if there were 5 or more muslims on shift the rest of us had to work longer stints with less breaks. One outspoken member of staff reminded the management that gambling is forbidden in Islam so they shouldn't be working in this industry, he was threatened with an official warning if he mentioned it again out of 'respect'.
