Score in Canberra currently Kuwait 0 South Korea 1. Mr. Nam Tae-hee has scored after 36 minutes. 20 minutes left to play.

If Korea win this and Australia beat Oman later, then both teams will progress to the quarter-finals.

Australia emphatic winners over Oman 4-0. South Korea & Australia through to quarter finals where I doubt either will be worried by any team in Group B. Therefore, I would expect to see both South Korea & Australia in the semi-finals.

By definition, South Korea would then be involved in either the final or the 3rd/4th place play-off. Ki will probably be there for the duration.

    17th Jan 2015 Australia 0 v. 1 South Korea

That means South Korea have won all their group games 1-0 and have topped group A.

Musty and other Oz-based Jacks not happy bunnies this morning?

Ivory Coast start their campaign on Tuesday 20th Jan, but I guess it doesn't really matter any more.

My previous post 27 has now been corrected - South Korea will be playing Uzbekistan in the quarter-finals (not Saudi Arabia). Think I looked at the table before the final group game had finished.

    The other quarter-finals are:

    China v. Australia
    Iran v. Iraq (!!!!!!)
    Japan v. UAE

Ivory Coast start their campaign today at 4pm. There's highlights on ITV4 at 10pm if you're interested.

    Jonjo Shelvey

Pretty much nailed on for a start against Blackburn on Saturday?

    Jefferson Montero

Physioroom.com are still quoting 1st Feb as a return date, so he could be available for the Southampton game. Williams, Routledge & Britton are down as 'no return date' so all 3 unlikely to start at Blackburn.

When I lived in Africa,I used to get caught up in the excitement of the African Cup of Nations.

I used to watch the games, sometimes three a day,in the local bars, and even the Police Stations. Just walked in,and found a seat somewhere. Always great atmosphere in evidence.

It doesn't have the same appeal, however, now I'm back in the U.K.

No point,I suppose, in going to the local nick to see if games are being televised. <laugh>

Bony played but didn't score. Gervinho sent off for Ivory Coast.

In the Melbourne Rectangular Stadium it's 0-0 at halftime between South Korea and Uzbekistan in the first quarter-final.

If Uzbekistan can sneak a winner here we can have Ki back early and he could play against Southampton next weekend...

Game to extra time. 0-0 after 90 minutes. Korea currently 2-0 up with a couple of minutes left to play in extra time. Son Heung-min with both goals.

    South Korea 2 Uzbekistan 0

    Korea through to the semi-finals.

Ki will be back for the home game with Sunderland on 7th Feb.

It's South Korea v Iraq in the semi.

Iraq beat Iran in a penalty shoot-out after a 3-3 draw.
