If we are being offered £9 Million for Gomis, then I would sell him, he's not really impressed me that much, but we would need to make sure we can sign a tasty striker before the window closes with all paper work completed properly. No work permit issues please Huw.........
It would be sheer madness for the board to sell Bony and Gomis, I'd really question their sanity. If they were then they better get a replacement in dam sharpish, don't want to go down to the wire in getting a player in as were **** at that.
For what it's worth,Monk has been quoted on SWEP as saying that Bony has probably played his last game for The Swans',and Gomis will not be going anywhere.
Would tend to agree with you. However, if we got £9m for Gomis (who is 29) and could secure Mitrovic for (say) £14m, then a net outlay of £5m for a 20 year old who has scored in the Champions League (against Arsenal), may not be entirely "mad".
Monk says ""Gomis isnt going anywhere "... someone must have forgot to tell Monk Gomis has a release clause of 7 Million ...
Half of me hopes your right taff , about Gomis 's release clause restrictions , but most of me thinks your wrong
"I know clubs have been speaking to my agent and my agent has been speaking to one very big club so we will see what happens. "I believe I could do a job for most clubs and like any player I want to play in the Champions League." Well that's positive and will go a long way to winning over fans.
Yeah a great way to build bridges , I somehow don't think he's going fit into one of Wilf's boots PR wise
He did indeed , allegedly Swansea City striker Bafetimbi Gomis is keeping his options open after admitting he is flattered by interest from other clubs. Gomis is being chased by several clubs during this month's transfer window with the likes of Crystal Palace, West Ham, Aston Villa and Newcastle all credited with an interest in his services. Swansea are reluctant to lose Gomis with Wilfried Bony on the verge of a move to Manchester City as they do not want to leave themselves short in attack. However, Gomis is weighing up options after enduring a frustrating first six months to life in Swansea following his arrival on a free transfer from Lyon last summer. Gomis has been forced to play a bit-part role at the Liberty Stadium with Bony being the preferred choice of Garry Monk in the starting line-up. please log in to view this image Bafe Gomis has drawn interest from other clubs for his strong play for Swansea this season. The 29-year-old has been frustrated with his lack of game time after being told when he signed he would be playing alongside Bony in attack. Gomis, who has started the last two games and scored twice in the FA Cup win over Tranmere, is flattered to be linked with a move and insists there is more to come from him if he given a chance to play on a regular basis. "It is nice to hear that other clubs are interested in me even though I have not played so much," Gomis told ESPN FC."There is more to come from me and I just want to play regularly. "I know clubs have been speaking to my agent and my agent has been speaking to one very big club so we will see what happens. "I believe I could do a job for most clubs and like any player I want to play in the Champions League."
Dont worry about what the papers or anyone else are saying about Gomis, He has not long signed a 4 year deal and is not going anywhere.
If we keep Bony, clear Gomis out and bring in the kid from Anderlecht then that would be the best piece of business we could do this month.
We have not seen the best of gomis yet and just like michu and bony we will be pleasantly surprised once he has started to play regular....you dont get teams wanting a player as much as some do with a player who has rarely played.
Lets wait and see, I don't think he will score the goals either Michu or Bony got. As long as he gets his share i suppose that will be ok. As you both say he may be a top player for us, just not a natural goalscorer.
