    Really?

If thats going to be the case for everyone released on licence we're going to have a huge increase in the unemployment figures.

Any club taking him on would clearly have a number of clauses in the contract.

I personally think its time for people to let it go and let him get on with getting back into work. Its for the justice system to decide when he should be let out on licence and able to go back to work, not a load of people on social media, most of which don't even know about the case they're in uproar about, they're just like sheep.

Personally, I think the Football League (or FA) should pick up the mantle on this one, as the IAAF have done with Pistorious. If they can have fit & proper rules that exclude a director/owner from the game for a bit of tax evasion, then surely they can ensure that a player serves his sentence in full before being employed in the game. It should be the same test for all in the game.

WJ I totally agree it would send the wrong message out that rapists could rejoin there club after serving half their sentence and that it would be an acceptable crime

While i see your point, i don't really think the 2 are comparable to be honest.

By law, people who are let out on licence are allowed to return to work, why should it be different for a footballer?

Its extremely unlikely that his conviction will be overturned as it very very rarely happens, but i honestly think in this case there has been a miscarriage of justice. At the very least, the evidence against him was very very flimsy indeed and the main reason he was found guilty is because he openly told the police he'd had sex with her.

Over the years i've been out in town and ended up with a girl, generally both have been p*ssed. I can't imagine what would happen if one or more of them suddenly decided they were too intoxicated to have been able to say yes. How many other thousands of people every week would be in the same position? Its scary.

Too long winded for me to type the full account, but it was a married couple who split up and she only accused him of rape, when she had been drunk, after he had met another woman.

    Afternoon All

Don't want Beckford and Becchio back

The Evans case came up on Question time. Julia Hartley-Brewers gave a very good response. Calling the case Flimsy is giving it too much credit. The Case against him is Rice Paper Thin it's that thin.

As for people having a second chance I give you one name Lee Hughes. I don't remember people giving this much of a **** when he returned to football after Drink Driving and killing 2 people and then running

Afternoon all ... I'm sorry to say this, but Redders is a massive disappointment as Head Coach, and should go back to the Academy now ... he shows very little leadership qualities, and not too much of an understanding as to what it takes to build a successful Championship team ... unfortunately for us, Cellino still thinks he's God, and believes he can take unproven coaches and stick them in the hot seat, then "make" them successful ... nope, one thing Cellino clearly does not yet understand is that Leeds is not Cagliari, the pressure is so much greater managing Leeds, and this Head Coach business doesn't work with an unpredictable character like Cellino pulling the strings ... we have good players, and should be top half as a minimum, but the procession of poor managers and constant off-field distractions has hurt us badly ... I place the blame squarely on Cellino's shoulders, and the circus that he creates

On wanting Becchio back, I am not at all surprised, as it underlines how weak Redders really is as a manager ... Neil Lennon will have Bolton flying tomorrow, they will get stuck in from the off and I expect them to beat us, by a distance if we're not careful

    This basically <applause>

The only reason its big news is because of people jumping on the bandwagon with their faux outrage at something they actually know fk all about, but a few people on Facebook and twitter were banging on about it so they've got to be outraged too, and its just snowballed from there.

I've got to agree with what Eire said last night about Feminists. Evans has a penis and has been acused of something so he's clearly done it. The Evidence be damned.

Think we were linked. Swap and sign on loan until the end of the season when he is out of contract, line up a pre contract and we have swerved the FFP ruling. :1980_boogie_down:
