Like I said before , could be a ploy to keep Chelsea from getting him so they drag it out as long ad they can , time to contact Chelsea imo.Bony will be devastated if he doesnt get to a big club this window , be a unhappy camper is he comes back to us ...just saying
Why should it be us? He's our asset, pay the going price or sod off. That's the message Monk gave them yesterday in his press conference.
Bony has come out enough times to reassure that if he doesn't sign for a big team, hes more than committed to Swansea. Hes a professional of the highest order and I firmly believe that he will try even harder for us if even just to attract more clubs.
My gut feeling is the longer this drags out, the more chance we have of keeping him (until the summer that is).
You could be right , we'll know soon enough though ,either Clubs will need it resolving for the same reasons (if we decide to spent some of the transfer fee on getting someone in) or Citeh to start looking elsewhere .
"Wilfried Bony looks set to join Manchester City, and Swansea are targeting Watford’s Matej Vydra as his replacement. View image | gettyimages.com Czech international Vydra is now back at Watford following a dour spell in the Premier League with West Bromwich Albion last season. After being named Championship Player of the Season for 2012/13 - with 20 goals scored in 41 games - the Udinese man departed his loan with Watford to sign with West Brom. However, his second loan spell in England was nowhere near as successful, with the managerial changes at the Hawthorns not allowing for any continuity, and he netted only three times in 23 appearances. He returned to Vicarage Road at the start of this campaign as the Hornets look to secure promotion to the top flight, and, although restoring his impressive striking partnership with Troy Deeney, he has failed to hit the heights of his first spell in Hertfordshire. 21 games have brought a return of seven strikes, and he is currently on a run of seven Championship games without finding the back of the net. reported that Swansea City are looking at Vydra[/a] as a potential replacement for Manchester City-bound Wilfried Bony. The Welsh club have reportedly agreed a £30 million offer from City for the Ivorian’s services, and, with Bafetimbi Gomis still failing to properly impress, the Swans could offer Vydra consistent Premier League football. However, it is unlikely that the Pozzo family would be willing to cut the loan deal with the Hornets short, as getting Watford to the Premier League this season is their main aim. Should they offer a large fee it may be accepted by parent club Udinese, but, in the current situation, it would be advised that the Swans look elsewhere to fill the void left by Bony."
I'm reading Monk has said Bony would win Man City the title, "Wilfried could well be the difference in the title race, that's what City see in him." I think we just blinked!
Monk is trying to induce two things now , Bony's big money departure and for Gomis to stay . It's one thing for Bony to be disappointed in the summer and put his nose to the ground and move on swans-m , but Bony will be inconsolable if this deal falls through ...and Monk knows it.
Bony knows fully well that the main obstacle is Man city's reluctance to pay the asking price so if it falls through then man city are to blame. Bony will have to accept the out come whatever happens but he knows other big sides are out there and one will come calling...
Main obstacle is FFP After the summer window we had £26m of the £49m allowed to spend in January So unless we get money in for Sinclair,Guidetti and Nastasic then our hands are tied There's no way they will buy him for £30m and gamble on bringing the remainder in during the window because if we don't get anyone in and fall foul of the restrictions it will trigger a £32 fine and a transfer embargo
I'm on a cruise this week and have so far refused to pay the €20 per hour for internet connection so I've found a cafe with free internet today in La Spezia...... can't believe what I'm reading about Bony going ! Still be surprised if Man City get him now though.......
Same here , I can't believe some of the things being posted either , enjoyo .I'm sure by the time you're back the natural order will have been re-established
Meanwhile , Man City are trying to negotiate for Barkley from Everton for 45 million ...pull the plug on the Bony deal and lets get back to buying and selling elsewhere.Any hardware that Man City has won in past few seasons or will win is tainted with greed and means less than other teams hardware.
If they haven't already I would expect them to try and offer Scott as part of the deal. I for one wouldn't want us to go for that.
http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/419241/Chelsea-HIJACK-Man-City-30m-Swansea-Wilfried-Bony 'Reigning Premier League champions City are on the brink of snapping up Bony after opening talks with the south Wales side over a deal. However, Jose Mourinho has refused to give up hope of landing Bony, whose move to the Etihad Stadium is being held up by Swansea's failure to agree a fee with City. The Manchester giants want to pay £24m for the Ivory Coast hitman, while the Swans are holding out for a fee closer to £30m.'
