Chester and Dawson are both available. Jelavic should also be fit to start. Aluko is out with a calf injury.
I imagine SB will go with wing-backs for this one, simply because it suits the personnel available. McGregor Elmo Chester Dawson* Davies Brady Livermore Huddlestone Meyler** Jelavic Hernandez (* He may go with Bruce if he feels Dawson is lacking sharpness. ** Or Quinn.) Personally I'd have Quinn in place of Meyler. I know some will say Huddlestone doesn't deserve his place, and he does need to buck up, but I feel he's crucial if we're going to keep the ball better. Hard to predict WBA's line-up, as no doubt Pulis will tinker.
The way he's played recently, that's not necessarily a bad thing. Also explains why he's doing punditry for ITV.
If anything, it pretty much forces Bruce into playing Jela and Hernandez up top which I see as a good thing.
I sympathise, but I seriously doubt he'll pick Maguire. And Jnr can point to a strong recent run of form too.
Alex has barely put a foot wrong, lets not get ahead of ourselves and start throwing Maguire in at the deep end more than we already have. A game like this is much better for a consistent Bruce, who recently has been our best centre half.
Has he bollocks, he still can't pass a football. Decent enough at defending but a complete liability when we need to keep the ball. Watch Chezzy, Dawson, or Maguire on the ball and they are in a different league
He's been superb in recent games, there's no denying it. We all know he isn't technically gifted but does a solid job for us. We've won 44.4% of games when Bruce has played this season (4/9) and have won none of 12 without him.
Yeah I agree with Willson, he's been alright but nowhere near our best defender. When he is in the team our goalkeeper takes an unnecessary amount of touches. He can time a tackle, but you need more to your game in the Pl. One successful pass in 10 isn't good enough. I'd happily have him in against Wba, but to say he's been our best defender simply isn't true.
Yeah but we didn't pick up those points because of him being in the team. He's enjoying his time as a Pl footballer which is great, but had his Dad not been manager, would he be at a Pl club now? No, I highly doubt it.
Once again an argument about Bruce Jr boils down to nepotism rather than accepting the lad has played well. Typical.
I didn't say he hadn't played well, hes been alright, but I just don't think any other Premier league club would have picked him up.
