That is 2nd hand and from a while ago but i wouldn't hold my breath on him staying around past this season.
Does confirm what a decent bloke he is. I have been impressed by him in interviews, even though he wasn't telling me what I wanted to hear. He basically says that he is here on loan because he wanted to work with Koeman and get game time, but anything else would have to wait until the end of the season and it came down to the clubs. Obviously he has an input on his future, but he was respectful to the 2 clubs. In an ideal world, he would love it here so much, he would try and facilitate a permanent move, but we all know how far we are removed from an ideal world. Not saying it is impossible, but I expect it will be hard to keep him (which I suspect is why the club are trying to act quickly).
Yeah i think it all hinges on Champions League with him. Like any footballer he wants to compete at the highest level and i think if we get Cl and meet Athleticos asking price he'd stick around.
