So, Obi, can you give us all directions to the stoning? You seriously believe everything in that piece is 'utter garbage'? How sad it is when someone has to prove their innocence, rather that our justice system be burdened with proving their guilt. You might think so, but apparently not.
I know someone who was raped after a bloke slipped GHB into her drink, try telling her that her rape was less than that of someone raped at knifepoint. The only difference is the weapon of choice, knife, alcohol, drugs !! In fact it was worse for her as it was more difficult to convince the police that she had been raped without serious physical injury
For what it's worth, my view on the Ched Evans saga....the guy has served his sentence and is thus eligible to be employed by any employer who wishes to take him on, no matter what the field of employment may be, whilst i'm not a qualified lawyer, I don't believe there are any legal reasons why he cannot be employed by Oldham The decision as to whether Oldham should employ him as a footballer is to me a matter for those who run Oldham, the fans and the sponsors. Ultimately, any fans or sponsors who disagree with the decision (if Oldham had taken him on) can choose to boycott the club, denying them future revenue and support. Those people who have no connection whatsoever with Oldham are entitled to have their opinion and voice it, but should in no way be connected to the decision as to whether he is to be employed by Oldham or not. To see 60,000+ people signing petitions when only 3500-4000 people are turning up to Oldham's home games suggests that there are a hell of a lot of people with no interest in Oldham or football in general signing up to these things, and if that were to affect the decision, that's not right in my view, and the bit which has really pissed me off, seeing people who don't give a **** about football have prob never even heard of Oldham posting links and trying to encourage people to have a petition signed for no other reason than they think he should burn n hell for all eternity...... For the record, if it was Hull who were interested in signing him, damn right I wouldn't want him and would sign every petition going, I wouldn't want him to play for my club.
I referring to the statement that they gave her more alcohol in the hotel. My understanding is they didn't.
Why don't you read his other statements about the behaviour of the woman implying that she consented to sex with MacDonald. All of that behaviour was missing with regard to Evans because he just turned up uninvited whilst MacDonald was having sex with her.
I think your point about every Tom, Dick & Harry and Harriot signing is a fair point. Having signed one or two petitions, I now receive endless mails asking me to sign all sorts of issues, including the petition to stop Evan's signing for Oldham. It is very easy just to click on sign and send it off, which I suspect many people do. One point which I don't know the answer too, is that he is now on the sex offenders register, and I don't know whether that put any restrictions where he can work and be allowed to go.
We don't know if she said yes or no. She says she cannot remember whether she agreed or not. Since the change in the law Evans has to prove she did consent. MacDonald did prove she consented to sex with him but Evans didn't.
How do you prove consent? You didnt get around to answering it the other day. something about having CCTV in the room everytime you sleep with a girl just in case was about as good as you could offer.
I think doctor, nurse, anything with children like teacher or nursery worker prob off the list but footballer defo not on the list
Clubs though run community projects in schools etc, I would have thought this would be a very sensitive area, Evan's going on any of these projects.
Yeah thats it. If footballer was on the list we wouldn't be debating it would we? He can't become a coach though I don't think. Not sure.
Its an absolute joke, really. If the woman had claimed she'd said no, i'd have completely understood he had to prove it, but the fact she can't remember but she did consent to shagging Macdonald (she could have easily have said yes after than have said no) then I don't see how or really why he has to prove anything
Yes, but how was Ched meant to even have the ability to prove consent? Not being able to prove it isn't helped when there is no way in hell you'd have any way of proving it!
