I think we will loan a player in and use our loan slot but apart from that I can't see us signing anyone, I'd like to see us go in for john guidetti but he is on loan at celtic,so can't see it been possible. Has bruce been given any money to spend this transfer window?
All deals are done on a player by player basis, there isn't a transfer pot so to speak. If the player will improve us, they'll try and do a deal. John Guidetti is unlikely, Celtic are trying to make his deal permanant, but funds wise he'd easily be affordable. I think we'll get a loan in from abroad, I can't see anybody decent being available.
Well loanwise we could get a domestic loan and then some foreign ones as well. Permanent deals look unlikely though unless we sell someone.
We aren't going to sell our club captain, especially when Maguire is still unproven and Dawson is struggling with injuries. And you are assuming that a) somebody would want to buy him and b) we'd get all of the money from his sale as transfer funds. It's not going to happen, we've been hit by injuries so badly it's hard to see anybody leaving this window. You also have to remember that those currently injured will be coming back into the squad, so the likes of Diame, Snodgrass et al will have to fight past anybody we bring in on a permanant deal. A loan signing would be perfect because they could then leave and our original signings could come back in.
Well I don't know who'd be heading out, given our injuries and suspensions. Our quality in depth isn't great and we have no youth prospects to call upon. Our attacking players are Jelavic, Hernandez, Sagbo, Ince, Aluko, Brady, Elmo, Ramirez and Quinn. Assuming Sagbo is on his way out, we still have a decent amount of players in our final third, its just picking the right players for the right game. I think the loan player we will get will be what Brucey thought HBA would ideally be like.
judging be the fact we are looking for a player that would improve us, surely at the moment we need to look in the positions that thinnest, Left back, up front (if anything happened to Abel or Jela) and a creative midfielder (meyler puts in 100% and I credit him for that but his passing is abysml at times) possibly a GK but maybe in summer)
Yeah, he must want to play in the premier league rather than the SPL, (surely) having said that if we were to bid for him, how much would we be looking at?
Man City want £5m, but he's out of contract in the summer, so he's probably actually available for less.
Our LB position is pretty well covered, A-Bob is due back mid-January, Dudgeon just came back from Barnsley and we also have Brady and Figueroa. Not a lot of quality but it's not an area we are short of cover on, especially if we play with WB's. It's known we are looking at a keeper, but I think it hinges on how well Watson progresses and whether Hibs will want to keep Oxley after his loan spell. A creative midfielder would be top of my list and I expect we will see one come in on loan. There won't be any bids for Robertson this window, he's only been in the PL for 5 months and he's missed a few games through injury. Even if somebody did bid, we'd probably reject it.
reading online that celtic are going to bid £3mill and he has 3 weeks to decide his future at parkhead! for the price of him, i think we could get a good bargain, only think its not worked out for him in premier league so far because he plays for man city, think he would be great at a club like ours and would link up great with either jela or hernandez!.....get him bruce! sell sagbo for 1.5mill and get this guy in!
so we just need a creative midfielder to come in on loan and sign john guidetti for 3mill plus, and sell sagbo for some extra money, sorted!
Sagbo won't leave for a seven figure sum. And he played at Stoke, where he made just six appearances, all of them as a sub. Hopefully if he does join a PL club, he will be better suited to the English standard of play.
Suso at Liverpool is available for Loan after he was told his contract would be allowed to run down in Summer. AC MIlan linked with a move, but only after his contract runs out. He'd be ideal.
