I thought it was that she'd pulled everyone so far into her story that it would be impossible for them to climb out of it without having their reputations destroyed on some level, especially Affleck's character, and the lawyer and the police detective. Everything in it is a construct viewed through the lens of the media and public intrigue, so the story/image that the lawyer and Affleck's side built and the story/image that the police were building until his wife shows up again become things that could bring them down rather than redeem them as Affleck's character, his wife, the lawyer, everyone are all massively to public and media scrutiny. Everything is false. His marriage in the first instance was grounded in falsity so she makes sure that by coming back, after he scuppers her Plan A with the talk show appearance, that she condemns him to an even falser marriage - the artificial insemination she undergoes, for example, is sort of a 'fake' kind of pregnancy as it doesn't involve sex or even love, it's superficial. There is tonnes of great imagery like that throughout. How she hoards the consumables she uses to set up Affleck's character in the shed for instance, this introduces the idea of conspicuous consumption, another fake way of living, if you want to look at it that way. Then the fake friend she makes when she disappears who is only after her money. Then there's the whole undercurrent about manipulation and obsession and sexuality/gender conformity. And that scene with the juggernaut pulling in behind her as Affleck's character starts to get the upper hand... great visual metaphor.

Thought it was brilliant tbh. And Rosamund Pike, my god, give me an hour with her!

Definitely would, she just has a very pointy face and prominent (very nice) teeth. You'd get over that, she's still ****able. But yeah, more cute than hot

I thought it was ok but couldn't believe that when the crew had to leave and had to face all the protestors and a very worrying situation the 3 presenters were hid away to avoid it. ****ing cowards.

Started watching the new series of Broadchurch, I thought the end of the last one was a bit rubbish but it follows straight on and the 1st episode was really good.

I presume the team took a decision as a whole there that there was no f'n way they could dirve those cars.

What surprised me was the 3 wreaked up cars were actually driven. I assume the crew felt if they drove them away no such following and stoning etc etc would occur as after all the bleend'n police were escorting them.

They made no mention of how the 3 were gotten out of the hotel after mind.

The presenters let the crew drive off with the cars and have got out in some other way. The cars got abandoned in the end as it was too dangerous. I can't believe the presenters abandoned the crew to look out for their own safety.
