John Pillager? Is he one of those British Empire opportunist types you love so much? A cousin of Fred Rapist? Or is it John Pilger?
After watching the vid properly it is strange that there is little or no damage to the officers head, I've fired that weapon and others like it and at that range it would be messy. I'm not buying into the whole theory but the shot to the head at that range and with that weapon should cause a lot of damage.
No, no, no it's blasphemous to THEM not to us, and it's our right to say what we like, it's called free speech. Poking some satirical fun at their religions expense is not infringing their rights at all, but stopping us from doing so is infringing ours. I don't care if some fundamentalist has got an issue with a cartoon depicting a *****phile.
Queen Victoria nicked their spuds and hid them underneath all their gold she nicked, right after she made all the Soupers piss on the graves of the dead of Drogheda. And it was all covered up by androids, drones and shape-shifting lizards.
I'm sure you'd have done a better job with your axe. Seriously, this is one more big pile of **** to happen, and it will keep on happening because there's no compromise or mutual understanding in sight. Now if anyone thinks that it's all been staged for political purposes then let's have some serious evidence for it, and not just assumptions, based on what you want to believe, because a bit of video doesn't look right. That's as bad as the rank idiocy that claims the moon landings didn't happen because a few pictures had been tarted up. Happy New Year- Peace And Good Will to All, btw. Oh, sorry- that was last week.
Free speech is all well and good right but so is having respect so the majority will and the minority will try to goade. Well it seems the right to free speech also has responsibility with it just like all rights
The responsibility is to understand its importance and defend it without giving a single inch. The second you accept people are allowed to demand you change what you say because it offends them, they will demand you change how you act. These ****s won't stop at cartoons not being published, they then move on to women being banned from showing their faces.
What's happened is a tragedy. What's sad is that people (much like on this thread) use it to peddle their own prejudices. From conspiracy theories to ignorant stereotyping racism. Both belittle the dead and use it to push their own agenda so don't really care as much for the dead as their angst towards who & what they hate. While we hold views like some expressed on here, it's not surprising this perpetual killing and being killed continues. Condolences to the relatives of those killed today.
No. Free speech is just that, free speech. Tempering an opinion because someone might take offence due to their icon from the Middle Ages being depicted in a cartoon is never right.
All "rights" carry responsibilities, though, for anyone who has any moral perspective on the world. Because something can be done doesn't mean it's wise to do it. Free speech sounds good, but if it extends to incitement to break the law, for instance, then it is not within our rights. I'm talking about a general principle here, btw- not specifically about today's events which I consider entirely unforgivable, regardless of the (perceived) provocation. Nobody can claim the right to murder someone for their views- that should be patently obvious to all.
Saint, as the old saying goes, If you're tempted to kill someone because of your religious beliefs, start with yourself Those fanatics reacted to something that wasn't beyond the bounds of what is reasonable
Yes incitement is a crime. As is libel. And blackmail. You can't say whatever you want all the time. That has nothing to do with these cases, which are about people legally exercising free speech and other people deciding their offence gives them the right to threaten, attack, mutilate and murder in response.
See this is a difference of opinion I think that just cos I could doesn't mean I should and it's about me not them. Basically it's not ok to me to go do something cos someone else is wrong or in the stone ages I'd want to look at myself and what I'd find right for me and if hey go do whatever that's thier issue So.... If the guys running the comic here felt they were right ok but I'd not do it cos I feel it's a bad way to go about it, if some Muslims really feel this stuff is offensive however it's not ok to got do what has been done Free speech fine but it's never free is it, someone pays
Sounds to me like saint is blaming the dead for inciting the murderers to kill by producing a cartoon drawing.
I thought youd have more sense being a red. Pity they mostly did it to themselves .... Isn't that what the scum said about Hillsborough ? As for the bluenose **** who brought The Great Famine into it , I call for the twat to be banned. Shame about the people killed by the IRA pub bombings in the 70s but sure they mostly brought it on themselves by being English and trying to enjoy a night out
Which is why I included my last paragraph. I was just pointing out that the right to free speech has limitations, it is not an absolute freedom. However, murdering someone for their views can never be excused, even if those views do cross the line. Tbh, I never understand the motivation anyway, if you have such faith in something being right, surely it is strong enough to withstand some criticism? To me, the need to try and eradicate non-believers indicates a very shaky foundation to one's beliefs.
Have a nice day Hash! We both know that there are 'problem' truths in received history from both sides of the story. You prefer your fairytale and me mine. Somewhere in the middle we may get close to the truth. But why bring Hillsborough into the equation?
