No girl brags about it. Ever. This girl however, well seeing as she didn't say she was raped at any point, well she quite obviously saw £ signs. Funny how you two clowns claim they didnt exist and swiftly change your stance once shown that they do.
Am I missing something? A tweet saying when I win big in context to nothing identifiable from an account with no identifiable details? Is that it?
I believe he has said that he regrets his actions of that night and he is thoroughly ashamed of himself, but he has drawn the line at apologising for rape as he is contesting the verdict - I would imagine his actions are on the instructions of his legal team.
Her identity is hidden. You or the other clown have already shown your outrage at the mere suggestion her name might be used so again, pipe down. You can make your own mind up regarding the tweet however its wise to remember she quickly deleted them ( and others which paint a fuller picture), made her profile private and then deleted her twitter. People tend to only delete things they shouldn't have said in the first place.
Yet he was still convicted and his conviction upheld on appeal. Shocking really given the evidence shown on this thread to prove his innocence.
The mention of buying her mates matching Mini's suggested that she was expecting a substantial windfall. Of course it could be a complete co-incidence that the comments were made after his conviction and could have had no relevance whatsoever to a perceived massive payout......... Maybe she dropped the lottery.
I didn't claim the tweets didn't exist. I said it is irrelevant if they do. If she'd said she'd agree to sex with Evans then you'd have a point, but she didn't say that. Claiming she was going to "win big" (which could mean £10,000 compensation) just means she's not a sweet little angel. As does her sleeping with MacDonald. Unfortunately for Evans the jury didn't believe him when he lied to get into the room and had consensual sex with her and then sneaked out the fire escape.
She was most probably told what her compensation would be. Just because she told the world she was going to buy two minis means she consented. It just means she didn't behave how you would.
No mate, but it hardly creates an image of someone who was broken by the entire experience though eh....
So this is the new evidence for his re appeal? The amount of compensation given to sexual abuse victims isn't enough to buy one car.
How do you know what a victim of sexual violence behaves like afterwards? There isn't a script to follow you know. It's not an episode of Eastenders.
Who said she had to be broken? If she didn't consent, she didn't consent and Ched Evans is guilty of rape.
Did it go to appeal? I thought he was refused leave to appeal and the sentence was upheld on the basis that the original process could not be faulted and they thought (at that time - they seem to be changing their mind, maybe) there was insufficient new evidence/argument to move to a full appeal? I agree that the victim (she still is under law) is being subjected to abuse and that is wrong, simple as. Unfortunately she is known in the area and the abuse must be dealt with by the authorities; it seems strange that some expect Evans to do this. We have seen quite a number of accused rapists who have then been accused, named, shamed and then found innocent, many quite recently; all of them men (not that it is particularly pertinent, is it, Charlie 1?). The social media witch-hunt works both ways and this highlights a number of chinks in the armour of our justice system. I do find it worrying that some elements of the media are implying that he has been fast-tracked because he is a footballer - is there really so little faith in the integrity of our justice system? To be honest, I believe Evans is a low-life, no more, no less: but he is not being portrayed as a victim in any other way than folk seem intent on not allowing him the due process of law and his human rights, because in that, in my opinion, he is a victim- unfortunately. There are no winners here, it's a truly awful case that mirrors our ugly society, not just footballers.
I did say earlier Fez that there had been internet trolling on both sides. Agreed there are no winners in this.
Violence? Where was the violence exactly? He was convicted of rape off the back of the victim claiming she was unable to remember whether she'd said yes. There was no injuries or signs of struggle. This entire case opens up a debate on exactly what does man need to do these days to confirm that he's got consent? No means no, was always the message and rightly so, it now appears that 'I can't remember saying no' is enough to go down and be labelled a rapist., in the same category as some violent pervert who grabs some poor woman into the bushes.
The amount of compensation she received will be dependent upon the damage she suffered. I would expect somebody who had been beaten up whilst being raped to have received more compensation then her. Although the frequent change of identity and address won't come cheap and, now he's earning may come from his wages. I hope that is as clear as the legal position.
