I wanted us to get this lad from Basel in 2010 when he burst onto the scene. I think he's immense and was by no means out of our grasp. No one moved for him for years for some reason and he proved himself to be top class, got a big move to Bayern and struggled behind Robben and Ribery in the pecking order (no shame in that). I mentioned the other day I thought he would be a mega signing for either Liverpool or Tottenham and I stick to that. I've just seen Stoke have come out and said they want him. I'd love us to make a move there, I think he's out of our reach now but if we got him it would be ****ing exciting... We should be competing with Stoke in the transfer market.
If they do, coupled with Bojan they've got the beginnings of a very classy football team there. Still got Shawcross and Huth like but you get the drift.
He'd light up the premier league abit like Sanchez has at Arsenal. I hope he goes somewhere he can shine and not be a bit part at City or Chelsea.
Love Shaqiri like, incredible balance and great strength for his size, he's got it in him to play at the very top, easily. He won't be coming here, or Stoke, it's right what Disco said we could have had a shot 3 years back and turned a ridiculous profit on the lad. Bayern only paid £9million, we could have had him for about £4million a year before, he scored a screamer v England and his profile went up massively.
