The £75,000 is based on speculation as mentioned below:- " The final details of the deal were being thrashed out this morning while Bony had a medical but the player's personal terms will be restricted by Uefa Financial Fair Play rules and his salary will be dwarfed by others at the Etihad including international teammate Yaya Toure. City agreed to freeze their wage bill and can only offer Bony £75,000 (€96k) a week, the same as the departing Matija Nastasic, who has been in advanced talks with Schalke." But that situation is surely only in place until the end of this campaign so Bony could agree that now with the contract lifting his wage in the coming season. Or, he could be kept for PL games only until next season!
The transfer deadline is about Feb 2nd isn't it ? So, if Bony became a Man City player by Feb 2nd and then got injured in the ACN semi-finals or final (which would be after Feb 2nd) that would be tough **** for Man City. Edit: might even be Feb 3rd. From premierleague.com "You can keep track of all the ins and outs at the clubs throughout the winter window. The transfer window for the Premier League clubs closes at 11pm BST on 3 February 2015. For all the European transfer windows click here."
If that's the case we wouldn't be able to get a replacement in time. Huw should tell them to sign Bony by Friday or the deal is off.
Reports that Citeh have been 'rocked' by Wilf asking for £200,000. Have Swansea agreed a fee for a move he doesn't want to make. I'd love it to be the case that he has said it would take four times his wage to leaves his beloved Swansea for a **** hole like Manchester.
We don't need to sign another striker this window as , provided he doesn't go, we have Gomis and Oliveira . I would rather see the money spent on areas that need strengthening such as full back and defensive midfield. and look for a striker in the Summer.
I wonder how the club would view this if it was at all true, money in the bank or still having the best striker we've ever seen . The Sun claims that Wilfried Bony has rocked Manchester City with a huge wage demand, as other reports claim the deal is all but done. The Swansea striker has been in talks with the Premier League champions for the past week over a £30 Million move, although they now appear further from completion than previously believed. The Citizens were thought to have offered Bony a wage-doubling £100,000 a week, although the latest report claims he wants double that again! The Sky Blues are thought to be eager to bolster their attacking options, having found themselves without a striker for much of the past month, with Stevan Jovetic, Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero all out with injury. Jovetic has returned for the past two matches, with the latter pair expected to become available as this month goes on. Meanwhile Bony will be unavailable to make his début under Manuel Pellegrini until he returns from the African Cup of Nations, which could be well into next month.
I was looking at money for other positions too. If reports are correct and there is a bit of background to support them Williams, Siggy, Wilf, Ki and Gomis have increased our wage bill significantly. We desperately need defensive and defensive midfield players / cover. If Gomis also goes we are in difficult position.
I agree we need to look for a striker in the summer (if Gomis and Oliviera don't find form in their new responsibilities), but I'd have said we're ok for centre backs between Ash, Fernandez and Bartley. Now right back is another matter...
Probably it will all be signed now but take effect in 3 weeks if no serious injury. So nothing to sign in 3 weeks. Just a formality.
If Gomis stays or goes , were not in trouble imo .Time to rebuild , a bit more if Gomis goes is all , we will buy younger . 7 Million for a 29 year old unproven striker for us is good business.
There is a big stumbling block that is stopping the deal going through atm. Man city are refusing to pay £30m up front and want the deal on a performance basis and that knocks off a huge chunk of our asking price and puts man city in control if we accept the terms because if bony is a flop for them then they wont play him that will effect his performance target that in turn stops any further payment. Im hoping we dont go down this route and demand the fee of £30m ish up front or the deal is off. As it stands man city want him for not much more if at all what we paid for him with extra payments on the amount of games played for man city in the future.. We must stand firm on this and not let the big boys dictate the terms to their advantage...
Frankly , I'd rather sell him elsewhere . Remember , were dealing with financial cheats and they want us to bend the deal around their cheating ways .Pay up or shove off .
I think Huw has been bitten by this type of deal in the past, and will not be bitten again, they will have to part with 90% of the fee or they can bugger off!..........
Man City must pay £30 million for Swansea's Wilfried Bony - sources http://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/22321...ty-target-wilfried-bony-at-30-million-sources Bony fee causing complications… http://www.footballfancast.com/premier-league/manchester-city/man-citys-30m-striker-raid-stalling Man City Not Willing to Meet £30m Valuation of Swansea City Striker Wilfried Bony http://www.caughtoffside.com/2015/0...uation-of-swansea-city-striker-wilfried-bony/ I did think the citizens were under some sort of transfer embargo and it seems now they can't 'afford' Bony under his current valuation. Man City probably thought they only had to ask and Bony would go running but, as the board have said all along, we are not a selling club so any valuation they make they can stick to. Also its been said before that Bony is happy here so, whoever wants him will have to pay enough to crowbar him away. Its a win win for us either way, If Man City stump up £30m and meet Bony's demands we get a hefty sum to play with. On the other hand if they don't then we keep the premier leagues top goal scorer. See.....Win Win So.........who's playing who???? Just something to mull over if Bony does stay. What do you say guys, Spurs appear to still be interested in Bony so how about Kyle Naughton plus Tom Carroll plus cash??? Only if Bony wants to move sideways to another mid-table club of course.
I agree roof. This is the sort of thing big clubs do to safe guard their interest and keep within the fair play rules. This deal could run for a while yet as both sides try to find a suitable solution. By man city offering £100,000/week to bony is putting the pressure on us a bit and stinks of dirty play as nothing that side of the deal needed to be disclosed at this time. I trust jinx and the board to hold firm and make a deadline because this is not the only bit of business that needs to be done during this transfer window. I would like to see us put our deal on the table with a take it or leave it offer or we move on..
