    That was a terrible movie. And Ray Winstone's lost it. There was a time when he could do something a bit more nuanced than "Growling Cockney Hard Nut", but not anymore.

    If Evans was black he would have probably got off without charge like Nile Ranger and continued playing like Marlon King did at Coventry as all those PC outraged fannies would be scared of looking racist .
    No way would Milliband get involved wading in to the debate stopping a hard working black sportsman getting back to work of this I am certain.

    Sadly there may well be some truth in that. I have some lefty friends who refuse to condemn Islam for it's disgraceful treatment of women. The left need to sort themselves out on these issues. Islam is an extreme right wing creed.

    If Southampton signed him I'd probably stop going to St Mary's til they got ****ing rid.

    Pretty sure plenty of Latics fans will feel that way too. I'm not saying what's right or wrong about him playing football, but I have a hard time forgiving players for falling over in the box or pulling out of a tackle, let alone being convicted rapists.

    If Richard Gough could play for Rangers there's no reason why Evans can't play for Celtic.

    If he was good enough to play for Celtic I'd take him in theory - he already served his time and that is what counts most in my judgement. Despite all the hysteric screaming his rape (assuming he was guilty) was not of the worst severity (yes I am saying that not all rapes are the same). Of course, pragmatically, it might not be a great idea for Celtic, because you'd have the baying mob outside the door with their pitch forks etc - and if I was in charge of Celtic I probably wouldn't touch him with a barge pole since I can't be ****ed with Feminists and the Guardian moralists. But that's why I am applauding Oldham, because they have more balls than me.
