Ok, so the vernacular was sh1t. All I meant was he says "hey, as a gesture of goodwill, here's £3m, interest free, that you owe me. Oh, by the way, I'm going to now appoint board members - that won't be a problem, will it?"

He may not be Wonga, but he charges quite a lot in vested interest..... :)

Ashley seems intent on becoming the richest person on the planet. That seems to be his one true goal.

He has a talent and he likes to exercise it - - Shearer didn't stop scoring once he became the all time Premiership record holder, he just kept banging them in.

Every time I watch Wall Street it makes me think of him [Ashley]. Not in a good way either.

It looks like our chubby owner has offered a further £10 million loan to Rangers. He REALLY, REALLY wants them! Just when you thought he had been outmanoeuvred back he comes.

Aye - Apparently filed an application with the Land Registry to have a charge on the title deeds for Ibrox and Murray Park [35 days]. Security for his loan and stops others from using the land against other potential loans. Genius. He is showing his hand a little. He wants them badly.

Rangers Fans are seething especially as the loan is being secured against the stadium. For a league who dont allow this type of thing from happening and are against dual ownership, the SFA are really taking a relaxed approach to this. In all honesty if Cashley thinks nufc fans gave him a hard time, i dont think he has seen anything yet! Hopefully one of them does us a favour and sorts him out!

Lol, he does not give a flying fook. He knows full well what he can and can't get away with. He also knows money talks.

The 3 bears are about to get savaged by the looks of it. A billionaire gets what he wants, more often than not, there's nobody at the SFA, or anywhere else in the sport for that matter who will be able to resist his advances, one way or another, he'll assume control of Rangers.

I'd imagine the loophole will be found to allow him to own both, maybe putting Newcastle into new hands temporarily, somebody he trusts, hey maybe Pardew will be your new owner.

He seems to want Rangers, and by hook or crook, if he wants them, he'll get them. I appreciate the stability he's given our club, mouth the sooner he goes, the better. He's a horrible twat and would wish him on any club.

It's strange that nobody was interested in talking to the American buyer earlier in the week.

Seems Ashley is the preferred choice!

    A quite remarkable scenario approaches...

It's not that strange when you consider the MD and FD are both Ashley's appointments. He's basically got every corner covered, so that it's not attractive for any potential investor as he has naming rights to the stadium and now the loan secured against the stadium. Nobody's going to want a piece of that.

He's kind of in a position now where he doesn't need to take over the club right away, the more they owe him, the less likely anybody is to buy them.

Rangers owe him £13m now. So Sarver or anyone else would have to cough up around £25m for the club plus that amount, then sustain it until it gets back to the top of the SPL. You're talking in excess of £50m, a huge sum given the relatively low exposure of the league.

No idea what Ashley's doing, mind. As above, if he wants it he'll get it, I'm sure there's ways around all this stuff and the SFA will not be able to stop him. It's a question of "why?" for me.

Classic hostile take over. He's got Rangers over a barrel now that he has taken the charge over the ground and training ground. He effectively dictates to the current board.

Yeah, sorry, what I meant was I don't know why he's so desperate to do this. I mean, we have to imagine that although a challenge, the goal is to be owner of a CL team, right? Easiest route is sell NUFC, but this seems unlikely as well.

I agree. He's clearly eyeing the Champions League now as that is the next market for Sports Direct to tap in to. Rangers will never win it, but just being there is exposure enough. He may be trying to sell us. I suspect though he's trying to find a loophole that allows dual ownership. That would be his ideal by the sounds of it.
