If you could pick any player to replace Gerrard who would it be?

Ok, so not 21, but still fairly young, especially for that position.

My mate used to rave on about Wanyama (Celtic fan). I ignored him but only because he used to do the same about literally every Celtic player.

Neither are top 4 quality?? Wanyama is only young has loads of time to get there, and if you think Schneiderlin isn't that level then you clearly have not seen enough of him, as a complete (defensive) midfielder there's only a few in the PL I'd take over him. I've been saying since we were in league 1 that he will be one of Europes top midfielders one day and I stand by that. You'll see when he goes this summer to a top team.

Infact, I wouldn't swap neither Wanyama or Schneiderlin for ANY of your midfielders, yet they're not good enough for you <doh>

  7. I'm not agreeing or disagreeing with you but that's hardly a glowing endorsement, the PL is **** for DMs <laugh>

Yeah fair cop Gerrez, I'll give you that one, but even so I would say only Matic, Carrick and Fernandinho (and he'll be better than the latter 2 in a year or so) are better than him, so for a Liverpool fan to say he's not good enough for you is strange.

Then again, with the £50million you gave us in the Summer I shouldn't be suprised that some would be skeptical about signing from us again! <laugh>

Matic, Fernando, Fernandinho, Schneiderlin and Wanyama - all are quality DM's/CM's who are streets ahead of our midfield.

  11. We should be able to beat them then, least our midfielders know the game is played on a pitch :bandit:

Dennis Wise. He liked to throw a punch and then hide behind his mates as well!

You'll never replace Gerrard, in his pomp he literally carried your side for years.

As much as I loathe the crinkly headed, DJ bashing, beaut, at his best he was amongst the best attacking midfielders on the planet, who could also pick a pass and had a fantastic dead ball delivery.

He's been on the wane for a couple of years plus, but he keeps coming up with the goods when people write him off.

His legs this season have shown him up in the deep lying role that Mr Clever has put him in, now that you're not dominating games and spending more time on the back foot. However, as an impact sub playing higher up the pitch he's got another couple of years left in him (see Lampard for details)

I never had him down as a great leader, but he was always an inpsiration and you'll struggle to find that again in a generation.

    Pirlo!

Fabregas, Hazard, Silva, Di Maria, Kroos, Modric, Rodriguez, Toure, Alonso (!), Ronaldo... all different but all best in class

Someone like Pogba is the only one with enough quality that I can think of.

He's ****. At this point I'd prefer Besic. And he's **** too, but maybe Can could sort him out.
