Release clauses benefit the player also , means if a player wants to leave he just had to find someone who will meet it .Bony tried like hell to get someone to match the 19 Million in the summer ...imo , just no takers.Helps the team or the player depending on the situation

No public information but I found this in the Post which is repeated in a load of other media outlets vitally verbatim
'It is thought likely Swansea have altered — if not removed — the buyout clause in the contract Bony signed when he arrived from Vitesse Arnhem in 2013, although the club have never officially confirmed its existence.'

It depends if Gomis leaves , if he stays I dont see us getting anyone in unless its a gem of a deal.Like valley , I wouldnt mind trying to deal Hernandez from Hull .Might be able to advantage them at the moment .

    others say
we've received no offer at all.

Why fans get their knickers in a twist about a player being sold on is beyond me. Players come and players go and its been this way since the game was invented. It's no big deal at the end of the day as we do what we always do just like every other club in the land and say thank you very much for your service and move on. One man dont make a team as it's a team effort and we carry on. I personally think that apart from the money side of it that Bony will come to regret signing for a team like Man city and will become a bit part player. good luck to him all the same its a shame he was not here much longer to make him a Legend..

I have sneaking suspicion they are sounding out Huw for a cheap deal. They are seriously hampered by the fair funding ruling & there may be a fair bit of horse trading going on behind the scenes to get a good price.
Has there been any confirmation from Bony that he has asked to move now?

Imagine £30m for a player who the Legoland crowd serenaded with

    "You're just a fat Jason Scotland....." <yikes>

Yep - they're a good judge of strikers in Cardiff; Cornelius springs to mind! <laugh>

For a few hundred thousand it might be fun to get him and scoring, just to show what can happen when a player is in a half decent team.

I still think we should have offered a decent price for Alfred Finnbogason in the summer. 53 goals in two seasons with Heerenveen.
Went to Real Sociadad for £mn 6.5

    New conspiracy theory.
The club expected Bony to leave in the summer and brought in Gomis on big money, along with Siggy, Fab and increased pay for Ki and Williams.
We have too many players on inflated / high (for us wages) and Huw needs to balance the books - selling Wilf would do that and leave some over.
    That or overseas investment.
