My marra is a Celtic fan and reckons the 'hype' about him far outweighs his performances. He says is average at best & would be out of his depth in the Premiership.... Just his opinion but he knows his football.
This proposed deal I don't really like, and I don't think we should go for it. For some reason this reminds me the time the barcodes got stung for £8 mill for Boumsong. There must be better defenders out there at that price than someone who plays in the scottish league where to be honest, there is no real test.
Highly suspicious of player from the SPL to be honest. Carlos Cuellar looked great for Rangers, and while he was decent enough, he never matched the hype.
Jo beat me to it. Boumsong comes straight to mind. No from me at rumoured prices. There'll be better in italy for a fraction of the fee and wages. Cant believe we aren't camped in Italy bearing in mind the peanuts they pay their players. (Giaccherini only on 10kpw at Juve for example)
Agreed, but the time overseas players settle it would make a defender a pointless move in this window. I'd leave the defence alone till the summer and focus on an attacking threat.
Anthony Stokes bangs em in up there. Gary Hooper couldn't hit a barn door down here but was prolific up there. It can only be paper talk, no defenders from that league. As Funky says, a hit man is needed this window,
I'd take a risk and go with Bruma and pray he hit's the ground running and Campbell on loan. Inject some pace. I think Giacc and Alvarez can provide for our central attacking needs and I think both Fletch and Connor can score more than enough between them if provided quality service.
No gamble with Fletch other than injuries but as PVA proved anyone can face a sudden layoff. Fletch is fine finisher and will always get goals if given service. Conner is more than good enough as his cover, then we're talking 3rd and 4th choices after that which tend be terrible for any club of our level. I'd promote Mandron and hope we can shift Jozy. I think we create nowt so can't even judge our strikers but fletch is a goal scorer plain and simple(He'd be the last of our present strikers I'd be looking to move on). No value in the January Window, spending double the amount on a striker in a window which offers no value is a bigger risk for me. Our last domestic January striker we brought in on a permanent deal was 5m for danny graham. Nuff said for me like.
