OnlyArsenal @OnlyArsenaI 11 mins11 minutes ago John Jensen said on Danish TV, Szczesny has been given a fine and been told he won't play again this season. (Via @william_sass) WTF?
I think I'd need to see Ospina put under a more thorough examination before making a judgement, Hull didn't exactly rain down shots or crosses on us. Plus Sczcesny has looked very good in games this season, and last season he was very good. Just the last month or 2 our whole defence has looked shocking.
Good result and it pays off playing a strong lineup. Also good to see Walcott back and looking dangerous. Will be nice to see how Walcott, Ozil and Sanchez link up as the season progresses.
Ospina looked much better than Ches both organisation (barking orders at the back 4) and distribution wise (always looking for a quick release). Good players today: Monreal, Coquelin (particularly), Rosicky (particularly) and sometimes Alexis. Disappointed in Theo (clearly avoiding contact, must be eased back in) and Campbell. In addition, not replacing Ox when he was clearly struggling was a poor decision, as was waiting so long AGAIN to make subs. Great result, some great chances made, and fantastic to be in the next round
Well bringing it up won't make it any better will it? Let's just hope that we can go on a run and avoid any further Wenger bashing, as it's getting quite boring...
Admittedly I can't remember much of this thread, but where are the Wenger slating posts where someone has specifically said they give him zero credit?
I still think the best is to come from Arsenal this season. As much as we've been criticised (and justifiably in some quarters) we have not yet been able to field our first choice XI. With Ozil and Walcott coming back and Sanchez linking up with them I think we could see our possession turned into more goals.
I agree, i think we haven't seen the best of Arsenal at all. Even with our injuries, I think some of our players have under-performed. But hopefully with new guys Walcott and Ozil will inject some more energy to our team
Away to Brighton and Hove Albion. They gave us a tough game last time we played them but we have enough quality to put them to the sword.
The 3rd sub was made in the 3rd sub was made in the 91st minute, after Ox had started feeling his leg and wasn't running properly. I'd check the facts before you try and sound smart next time.
My apologies chaps. I consider myself fairly chastised and shall go sit in the corner for an hour with the big D hat on. (Quilllogic - me and you need to have a chat about your posting unreliable stats )
I don't think it's fair to say Ospina is worthy of a start based on this game, poor lad had feck all to do. I'm 99% certain I could have kept a clean sheet myself! People are quick to jump on Chezzers and yes, he can be a twat and yes, he fooked up horribly at Southampton but let's not forget his saves against West Ham which helped us win. He has the potential to be a brilliant keeper and I'd rather back him than Mignolet him. Fair play in the game though. The team looked comfortable and Hull, whilst tidy in possession, offered f*ck all going forward. Easy win all things considered.
He's had potential for years. He'll still probably have potential into his 30s. Ospina is worthy of a start, not because of his performance against Hull, but because he should have the chance to show he's better than Chesney.
I'm not saying Ospina isn't worthy of a start, just that we can't say he deserves one based on a clean sheet against a Hull city side who barely mustered one shot! I do think Stoke is a tough game to introduce him though. The orcs will mistake him for a Hobbit and try and eat him. I'm worried enough about Santi and Alexis as it is without throwing another diminutive player into the mix..
