These days I would probably resemble your 'Dead Granny". My predictions this year went 'pear shaped' from the off with last minute goals being the main cause of my demise. I scored 8 for the 26th Predictions and 1 from the 28th. Have had no luck this year with 'correct' scores of which last year I sometimes predicted 3 in the one week.
Our team would do well to sign a few "dead grannies" to shore up our defense and put a few away at the other end !!
Well done 'Roo for your audacious forecast of 7-0 for the WBA v Gateshead game That must be the best ever since the Prediction League was formed.
Definitely the luckiest as well. I watched the full match, and for the first 40 minutes Gateshead were easily the better side.
Thank you, I am deeply flattered. I usually do no good at all with FA Cup Matches owing to reserve teams being played but couldn't see the West Brom v Gateshead game being anything other than a Turkey Shoot.
Game 19 - FA Cup Rd 3. Jan 03-05 Final results check your scores: It was relatively easy this week predicting results, but not so easy predicting exact scores. That's the FA Cup for you. Most likely our best weekly average...I'll publish later with stats update from the heavy holiday schedule. ...............................Pts TigersCanada.............9 HFFP........................7 PhilHul.....................7 CANADATIGER.......7 TigerRoo...................9 RoverTiger................6 Greater Garbo..........7 The French Tickler..6 Sir Cheshire Ben......7 Erik......................... 9 HullDavidMail..........10 Blaknamberblood.....12........todays joint winner ElleWoods................7 JohneXAberdeen.....7 H3-L1.......................12........todays joint winner Irememberwaggy.....9 Mr Hat.....................9 DaviesHeadband......12........todays joint winner AlphaKennyBody.....9 Fez.......................... 8 2Jaysafloat...............5 Febbos.....................9 Patty'n'Chips...........6 SpursDisciple..........9 City1904..................7 DanKelly.................8 Quill........................7 PoolTiger................9 OLM.......................11 TigerinSydney........7 stats to follow.
FORMATTING QUESTION for all of you buggers. During the holidays I experimented with a new format - having the various stat catagories aligned horizontally - see post # 928 (ignoring the testing crap at the bottom). Personally I prefer this format to the linear version I've been using up until then (e.g. post # 885). Both require a myriad of "dots" to be inserted manually to make them readable, but that's not an issue as it'll take about the same time for me to **** my eyes up in both cases. To re-edit either style is a sod with this new system release. It is easier for me to do it on my largest monitor, either way, but especially the horizontal columnar alignment style. Question is, which do you prefer from a readability point of view ? I suspect those with smaller than 24 inch monitors, and those reading off i-phones, tablets etc will get no benefit from the side-by-side alignment. Let me know...I really can't afford the time to do it in both formats. I'll continue to do the age-old linear way if I don't get much of a response to the contrary.
You are doing a great job, just to let you know I view it on a PC monitor and each horizontal line, because spaced out, runs into 2 lines, so the vertical lines are not in line with each other, or under the correct headline..
Thanks John. It's like that on my 17 inch monitors - just needed one person to confirm the same. I'll stick to the old format.
HIYA , Will there be a fixture prediction list for this Saturday, 10th Jan, what with all the upheaval of the Xmas & NY. Is it likely to be business as usual. Ta.
Should be business as usual - if someone picks 10 games following the rules in the OP - before midnight Wednesday UK time I think it is. Fancy having a go yourself ?
