News today that players were collapsing in the excessive Australian heat (39 C) during an A League match which resulted in vomiting and players collapsing and begs the question as to how FIFA agreed to Qatar as a future host? Clearly the reasons behind the awarding of the 2 most controversial World Cups ever is well known by us all and to add further reason to be concerned about the future of the international game have you seen who's running against Sepp Blatter? None less than a Jordanian Prince. Be afraid - very afraid.
FIFA know nothing about football... Giving the 2022 WC to Qatar proves that. They have no football history, the tournament has to be moved to winter for it to be safe to play there and they haven't even built the city in which the main stadium will be located. Utter madness,, I still haven't got a clue how our fixtures will work around this. Will we still start in August but have a 6 week break at Christmas and the season ends in June/July leaving only 1 month to buy new players, have a pre season and get ourselves sorted?
The first step is to get rid of Blatter - then we have some hope of changing FIFA As for Qatar in 2022 - I can still see it being moved to the States (incidentally which is where Blatter wanted it in the first place) Shiny - who is this bloke Schrute?
Schrute is a cult figure over here - he's the US version of Gareth from the Office. Agreed - Blatter is the worst thing to happen to FIFA. He is an absolute scumbag. I'd be thrilled if they moved it to here for 2022 but it won't happen.
Slightly disappointing that the person offering himself as an alternative to Blatter is a Prince from Jordan, hardly renowned for their football..... However if the person in question is an honest and honourable person and really wants to cut out the nonsense and corruption then he gets my blessing
Dream on angelic. You will also notice that the Excited States is getting attention as a back up venue so why on earth does it not come to England because they have held the tournament much more recently than the home of football? Money talks and decent available facilities walk.
