Dev the debate is should Evans be allowed to continue as a pro football player?
Clearly you think he should not so what profession would you accept or do you think he should never be allowed to work?.

Please don' t bang on about the case or his family's fb page the sentence was served .
Don't bring up the appeal either it is all about letting the guy return to work.

The Thread title says there's a Witch Hunt against him. It's not a Witch Hunt if he's guilty.

Dev should he be allowed to be paid to play football?
What job would be acceptable for a convicted rapist?
Should he never be allowed to work?

I'm not arguing just interested as this seems to be the question posed in the media.

Well if public opinion is anything to go by (maybe it's not a good litmus test) he's a pariah, fans of Oldham and Sheffield Utd have made it clear what their feelings are and I tend to agree with them. If he had served his time and admitted that he bore some responsibility instead of whining and bleating and blaming the victim he may have had more sympathy, as it stands he's an unrepentant rapist so **** him and his career.

Ok thanks Dev question 2 what career would be suitable for him now?

The current government would not allow him to claim benefits if he was not actively seeking work so he has to provide for himself for the next 40 plus years.

He has a multitude of careers to choose from, same as any ex con, if he can't find someone willing to employ a convicted rapist then tough titty, welcome to the real world Mr Ex Pro Footballer. I certainly won't be crying into my conrnflakes over the unfairness of it all.

I think he should be allowed to work in football as long as he is not liable to rape someone in the showers

It's up to fans if they want to pay money to watch him do it......

Are you saying there was some sort of police/establishment conspiracy to keep Evans in jail or have him convicted in the first place?

No, I'm suggesting if, in his head, he doesn't believe he's committed a crime he's hardly likely to take responsibility for it, is he?

So if he was to sign a contract at say Blackpool and the fans were not against it he should be free to play and earn a very good wage?.
If Sheff U and Oldham fans don't want him then fair enough but someone will take him on he is a good player.

It does not matter what he believes in his head, he was found guilty. As long as he keeps appealing the sentence (which he has recently done again) then he is unrepentant and should not be given the benefit of any doubt, far less accepted back into society with open arms and no stain against his name.

As my Father used to say "The jails are full of innocent men".
