No way can i see this happening.

Wages. Cabaye will have got a pay rise to play for PSG and if we want him we'll have to pay him and that isn't going to happen. Sissoko may leave (not convinced he will just yet though) but for cash, cold hard cash.

Can't see us selling many players this January to be honest. Not will all the manager business going on right now, I think while this is going on Carr will be still doing his rounds and giving the board targets and all transfer negotiations will be off the cards. It's pretty much every clubs procedure during a management change.

Every other clubs procedure as they will want to know what the new manager has in mind before making changes.

Ashley will not care though, indeed it would be stamping his authority to say to a new manager that yes we have sold off players but no there isn't any money to replace them. Remember Pardew in his transfer window 4 years ago? Forced to sell off a player he had already said wouldn't be leaving and then they weren't replaced.

That said I don't think we'll sell because I don't think anyone is desperate enough to meet the valuations Ashley has for our players.

Remember we are hiring a head coach. Therefore in theory we don't need his input to buy players. It's down to Carr and the DoF

Which would be more reassuring if we had a DoF . . .

I'm sure MIke would dismiss any notion we need any players. What we need is a patsy who will happily accept the sale of players and just get on with coaching. And someone who makes an excellent human shield.

Its breaking over Twitter that Sissoko is in advanced talks with PSG. Sounds like its pretty much a done deal. He did also post a Photo of him and a young child (daughter) of him in Paris on Saturday whilst we went out the cup! He then retweeted a Mackem about the derby, which was a bit off!

The reported deal for Sissoko is a figure in excess of £20m. As always with Twitter the accuracy isnt probably dead on, but it appears that there is no swap with Cabaye. Dont blame Cabaye to be fair

GFF is reporting it, usually reliable. Not surprised. Just Perez to go then we can get relegated and prop up the wages with the sale of Cabella. Job done.

But Abeid coming by back from injury will be like a new signing (after ACON). Also some minutes for Vuckic in the cup may be a sign of a things to come...

We are finished as a club. It's a pathetic strategy and one that is doomed to fail.

If Sissoko goes our season is over, Carver will be manager and there will be a chance we'll go down.

I have heard that both Arsenal and Man U are interested in Ayoze. However if our selling price is not met, Ashley will be more keen to keep him whilst he develops and gain a higher price for him. Probably next January!

By my maths, we have made in excess of 80M from profit from the sales of Cabaye, Debuchy, Ba, Sissoko and Carroll. I expect that to be over 100m when Ayoze is added to that list! Who said you cant make money owning a football club! I really cant see us finishing any higher than 16th at the moment

If we did sell Sissoko and one or two others and Carver became manager I honestly believe a relegation battle could be possible. Its close down there, too ****ing close for my liking.

He's asset stripping. I think he [Ashley] is getting ready to bail. Expected to make a £50 million profit, Sissoko money takes it over £70 mill, tv money at the end of the season. The fat **** is taking the money and saying a big **** you.

Yep, can see this. Shearer said he wondered if something had been said to Pardew. I can see this being enough for Ashley, but he's going to need to sell fast or take a MASSIVE gamble on stripping it back and hoping it stays up.

Ashley is a massive gambler. I actually think he doesn't care that we may actually go down. This definitely smells of asset stripping. After all, why wait in releasing the accounts? He is getting ready to bail. Rangers is his new project. He's taking money quickly so he can bail and get in to Rangers.

He HAS to care, because he'll wipe 10's of millions off his assets value if it goes down. He may well recoup around £80m with the pending sales, TV money this season and last, but he'll still be down £134m (club) and another £30m for the rest of the loan. He could strip it all and sell for, what, £150m, I guess? Not up on this stuff.
