Did you not read my paragraph. In a 4231 I feel Henderson is to limited. He needs to be set free. Move him forward and Coutinho back a bit and he can have more freedom.
Meh, the midfield and attac should be flexible enough to adapt to the game and situation. Sometimes during a game it will erquire Hendo to sit with Can and other times to push on and use his energy. I don't get too caught up in terms of a formation like that.
I don't think he has the skill to play that role. He's energetic but lacks any kind of quality to beat a man unlike Coutinho/Sterling and even Lallana
I feel henderson is best in two scenarios. 1. told to f'n run lie mad, press, close down, join the box etc. 2. sit really deep and get time to look up. he can pick a pass when he has time. For me he is not a player to pick a through ball or one two in and around the box as technically he's not that good. He is a classic running man. box to box dynamo who'll burn out but 28 or so... thats just the fact of it. LFC with 3-4-3 OR 4-1-2-1-2 can play him right in the middle and tell him to leg it. playing right side doesn't suit him. here: Mingolet Can Skertl Sahko Manquillo Henderson lucas Moreno sterling sturridge coutinho can become Mingolet Manquillo Skertl Sahko Moreno lucas Henderson Can coutinho sterling sturridge We can do either without even a sub at this point. This is gong to be a big deal for us at soem pioint if a player like can and our full backs have the tactical ability to change shape mid game.... eventually someone is going to pin our ears back with our 3-4-3 formation so switching i up will be vital. In both formations we get the best out of coutinho and henderson... and the front 2 as well. Henderson for me is a vital player for lfc as long as he is used correctly. however the true answer and solution to lfc problems is stark. mingolet, skertl, lucas.... not good enough by far.
think on lads.. that'll mean the skis will kave to move on 5/6 young players.... value there. they've about 20 there to be moved on to make that move happen... or alternatively we could say that hazard, willan and others just get dumped for a new system.
See I actually think Hendo is very good with through balls and said it before but his one touch passes are brilliant. He could do that part of the job but he's not good enough at beating players or creating space for himself in the same way Coutinho is for example
his head is too down and his control is too limited most of the time. I am comparing him to a silva here. thats an attacking midfielder. let henderson be henderson and coutinho be coutinho is my view. he's a worker I do not see him having a long career and honestly if he gets and injury like lucas I'd worry! When he plays deep he plays his best passing IMO. he can play it long for sure and can get his head up but really he is est chasing, hassling, pressing cs he can get up to do it and then get back into the team shpe if it doesn't come off. I also think he should join the box more.
Hendo is a very interesting player - he certainly has ability but it's just his consistency. He needs to be playing those quality balls all the time for him to be a top player, and he needs to learn how to dribble with the ball. Until then, he's just a very good squad player.
Disagree with that. Decision making is what separates the good and top players. Knowing when to play the ball through and when to maintain possession. Hendo plays the ball through when its on but never tries to force it. To me, that is a sign of a top player. Attempting to do it all the time is Roy of the Rovers and, dare I say it, Gerrardesque!
Are you questioning that Gerrard wasn't world class in his prime? Coutinho has great vision and tries impossible passes at times and does it a lot, does that make Henderson better than him? Suarez is a great example, his ability to constantly try and push it made him score some incredible goals but also miss a lot!
Not at all, without doubt he was WC. I was referring purely to him attempting the killer pass all too often. I don't want to see a player trying the killer ball every time. It would be stupid and predictable IMO. Point was, I think Hendo has brilliant decision making now and it will only get better. there is a difference between trying a killer pass more often to trying a killer ball every time!
Gerrard used to make the decision to smash it in from 30 yards knowing he could smash it in from 30 yards. Now he makes the decision to do it knowing he can't. Same decision but no longer the correct one. His hoof into the crowd at the end of Leicester ended the game.
everyone but uir and greez says gerrard was world class.. that includes every professional footballer who ever played with or against him... do you like the minority of two lads?
His decision making is poor also. He often dwells on the ball because he simply can't run with it which then slows down attacks. Largely inconsistent with his touch and passing.
